A little back ground history.......To keep an eye on myself, I always separate my bank roll into even amounts and put them in bank envelopes. When one days bank roll is gone that's it for the day! This particular trip broke down to $600 a day
So, I get up at 5:30am Las Vegas time (8:30 east coast time) last Thursday distraught from getting spanked to the tune of $1,056 on Tuesday and Wednesday at everything I touched from roulette to poker (cash games) craps, and no limit poker tournament's at Binions.
I get a cup of coffee from Starbucks at the Golden nugget and walk over to a craps table with the $146 bucks left from the first two days envelopes (I haven't opened Thursday's yet). I buy in for $100 and in about 10 minutes managed to lose it all! Great, right where I left off yesterday!
My coffee and I did the walk of shame across the street to Binions were I bellied up to another craps table and laid the #10 for $40 ($40 no ten) and lost it in two rolls, now I am down to a lowly $6...great!
On the way to the window to cash in my chips, I said screw it and put the whole $6 on the 1st 18 spaces on a roulette table and it hit for a win of $6.........this is where my fortune changed for the rest of the day!!!
Now $12 is nothing to write home about let alone walk all the way to the cashier to cash in the chips so I put all $12 on the end of the 1st line (length wise) its hard to explain, but anyways I screwed up and accidently put it on the number 34 instead of the block for that whole row and it hit for just over $400!!!
Smiling from ear to ear, I went back to the Golden Nugget, bought into a cash 1-2 no limit hold em game for $200 and started telling the boys of my good fortune at the roulette table.(they did not seem impressed)
My 1st hand after buying in I was dealt a Jack/queen un-suited and called a raise for $6. The flop is queen, queen, Jack for a full house. Long story short, the guy next to me puts me all in (1st hand mind you) and I double up against his 2 pair! I go on to walk away up $400 from that table an hour later. I could not lose!
Its now around 9:00 am and I have managed to fill my Monday and Tuesdays bank envelopes back up and am feeling like a million dollars!
I took $200 and headed for the Golden Gate to play a little craps and try to slow things down so I don't do something stupid.
I bellied up to the craps table closest to the cage and bought in for $120. The first roll cost me $5 on the pass line as I 7'nd out after two rolls, the only other guy at the table did roughly the same....then lightening struck!!!
I got the dice back and put $10 on the pass line, set the dice 6/6 up and 5/5 facing me and threw an 8. (good number!). I put $25 on the 5, $30 on the 6, $15 odds on the pass line bet, and $15 on the field. This is an extremely large amount to bet for me! If you know craps the field bet is not a great bet, BUT by betting this way I own EVERY single number on the table (1 thru 12) except the dreaded 7. I was hoping to throw a few numbers and LOWER my bets down to take the profit and see what happens with the rest.
I started throwing and things were going well. Once I got my money back and a little profit I actually started pressing my bests. After about 20 minutes the reality that I was on a heater set in and I started adding hard way bets for me and the dealer's which really got the mojo going.
The newbie craps player next to me thought I was the best guy ever as I tutored him all the way thru. In fact I was putting single dollars on his 6 and 8 bets because he only had $5 on each and I just couldn't stand it!! Eventually I even thru $1 dollar on each hard way for him also, but as they came off he never put them back up with his own money(not a quick learner I guess?)
Anyway, after 45 minutes of throwing, I 7nd out and colored up with $1195 including my $120 buy in! This was probably my best one day ever in Las Vegas and my second best day at a craps table (#1 was at Samstown years ago)
Again, I have no idea if 'setting" the dice helps---but I am positive it does not hurt!
