The 4 Queens and their 4- $1 -10/7 Double Bonus Machines

I just returned today from 16 days in Vegas. I stayed downtown twice and also visited downtown at other times during my stay. I checked on the $1- 10/7 Double Bonus machines at the 4 Queens each and everytime I visited and this is what I saw/found.--- One machine now has 9/6 Double Bonus as the new payout - the other 3 machines that used to have the $1 - 10/7 Double Bonus pay table have had (everytime I visited) an Out-of-Order sign on each of them and were not working. I also noticed everytime I visited - whether during the day or at night- that NO ONE was playing the bank of machines. The 4 -10/7 Double Bonus machines used to be in play seemingly at all times - now no one is seen there playing them anymore. Looks like another brillant bean counter decision that has affected the drop and bottom line of money that these machines used to generate. The questions that immediately come to my mind are - with one of four machines in operation, just how long does it take to get the other 3 machines in operation? Is the one machine a "test" to see how it is being accepted with the new, downgraded paytable? Will the other 3 machines ever be put back into operation, and with what pay tables?

Thanks for the update. Those machines are a key part of my Las Vegas trips, it won't be same without them. I hope they decide to keep them.

I don't really blame them, since even with the halved players' club benefits ($16 to earn one point, rather than $8), a skillful player could earn over half a percent (inherent 0.17%, plus about 0.46% comps and cashback). At 800 hands per hour, that's $4000 coin-in, and an earn rate of $24/hr. Worth doing, and with only those four machines, it's quite possible that most of the action they were getting was from APs.

I was just at 4 Queens playing the 10/7 db & all the machines were working but they tightened them up. My wife & I never hit 1 quad during an hr of play. This has happened on the last 3 trips in the past 18 mos. They are not worth playing anymore. Bean counters fault.

Mark, I seriously doubt that they altered the software on those machines to "tighten them up." We've all thought that on occasion when we've had a bad session, but the truth is: you only get a quad about once every 420 hands

Mark, are you saying the all 4 of the machines are back at 10/7?

Mark, were you playing the 25c or $1 10/7 DB machines? (The five 25c 10/7 DB machines were still there as of Saturday. Of the four $1 10/7 DB machines, three are out of service and one has been downgraded.)

As of yesterday (5/14) no changes to the  $1 10/7 machines. One open with decreased paytables and the other three still closed. I was told by a host that removing the $1 10/7 DB was a "business decision".
