According to vpFREE2 Station casinos are now rewarding vp players $2 in for 1 point. So much for wanting players back.

The "Bean Counters" have had over 2 months time to sharpen their pencils. I am sure that, because of "Player Demand", there will be more of these similar surprises awaiting Vegas visitors.
I wasn't going to Vegas until I felt safe. This will not encourage me to make the trip. Moving on to betting the ponies from home.
Visited Sunset and Boulder June 4th. Noted small sign on FullPay VP machines,(paraphrasing) 'no point of any kind with play'. Just Sick.

And at Palace Station, you could not do your free play on the full pay machines. (Don't know if this is new. I was playing off a friend's free play.)
Are all the full pay machines (including the up to 99.8%) no points or just the 100%+ machines?

Only the 100% payback machines do not earn any points. The up to 99.8% machines still do.
This is actually WORSE than it was. Used to be, you would earn 1/12 of the normal points, and that was subject to multipliers on promo days--often, 6x. So you would at least get something.
There's an even worse aspect to that, though. Stations likes to have "everybody wins" promos where you earn 50 or 100 points and you swipe at the kiosk to play some game or the other. You almost always get 1,500 or 2,000 points and occasionally a free buffet, but that was at least worth a couple of bucks and base points counted full value (for the 50 or 100 or whatever). Now, no one who plays the good machines will be eligible for even those little bitty promos.
Don't know if this is the same as it was before, as I don't usually play at CP, but they have a bank of 8/5 JoB outside the "semi-high-limit" slots area (min $5), and a few 9/6 JoB machines in the "very-high-limit" slots area (min $25-100). The 8/5's earn one point per $10 coin-in, but the 9/6 games had a brass plate indicating they earn one point per $25 coin-in. If there's something good to be said, it's that you get the 9/6 paytable at the base $5/credit.
Elsewhere at CP is 8/5 JoB at $1/credit - on that bank alone. On the main floors it's 7/5, and at the bars - where one might expect more prompt drink service - it was 6/5. Paytables appeared locked to the machine's location on the floor, rather than floating with denom.
I don't currently play BP or other variations, so no useful input on those.
Offering this as a reference comparison, as I would assume CP to be one of the tightest for rewards - particularly since I hadn't seen the $25/pt restriction before. (May have been there the whole time; I don't typically visit the high limit areas.)
Honestly, I'm a bit baffled.. does CP/CET believe they're not making enough in ADT off someone playing $25/hand 9/6 JoB to give the regular rewards earn rate, or are the bean counters just trying to figure out how close they can shave? It does seem there's a trend on the Strip to devalue rewards, sounds like it's happening across Vegas.
I dont expect it to last.
Room rates have plummeted and parking fees are gone. The war for a dwindled customer base has begun.
This is the worst time (for them) to rip the rug out from under customers. There's just not enough people to give all the casinos enough business. People will flock to the places with the best deals....and the casinos that try to tighten up will look like a tomb.
