Avantage Players

How do the casino's identify you as an advantage player for VP?

I'm trying to figure out why my girlfriends offers have changed so much.
Was it a LV property(s) ??
They can and some places have.

Play exclusively on multi point days and/or on 100% machines and it will likely affect your offers at many places.

Casinos will combat this in a variety of ways. Some will simply "no mail" you. Others will revoke your players club privleges. The more punative ones will 86 your from the property.

There are ways to still play at an advantage and not give away the store. The objective is to stay off of the AP radar but still be on the right side of the bet. A nominal amount of low denom slot play is a possible ruse. There are others but I'd prefer to keep them off the board.

If one should get tagged as an advantage player, how do you get it changed? Staying away from all station properties for a few years? Playing only slots? Playing on non mulitple point days? Just curious what others have to say on this subject. Mary

Advantage Play ....Adshmantage Play..........................They still have a shot once you walk in the door.................I take the Bobby Mc Ferrin approach..........Dont Worry Be Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Folks while there are plenty of strategies to try and dodge the label the fact is it has gotten easier over time to identify advantage players, especially at VP. To get true value you have to be a slot club member. This requires you to insert your card each time you play. From then on it is merely collecting data by a computer which can be sorted any number of ways. The programs can be set to identify those who play only during peek multiplier days or only on better machines or any number of variables.

Yes one can mix a little slots in or play on non peak days but then you are giving up some of your "advantage" and the computers can still crunch the numbers very easily to show those who primarily, as opposed to exclusively, play on such opportunities. Most VP programs like frugal allow you to look over how well you play and even classify errors by minor, mild or major. No reason the casinos cant do the same to see those who play well above the expected hold for a game. Some may play only better machines during good multiplier days but play so badly they are an asset to the casino!

As to not playing for awhile certainly spreading play around may help some but when you sign up for your slot card at the very least the casino takes as ID your drivers license. That rather unique number ids you no matter how long you let go between trips.

How the casinos deal with it varies. One of the easiest is to allow you to play all you want but not allow you to earn any slot benefits like bounce back or free play. Once again easy enough to do with computers.
And it does not have to be all or nothing. Merely cut back on some of the offers or perks.

Lastly, and not to be ignored, many casinos have cut back on everyones offers as a sign of the economic times. So that you gf's offers have changed may have as much to do with the economy and bottom line right now of a casino or chain as it does with advantage play.

See what happens when I drink too much morning coffee!
ten or fifteen bucks in bounce back. nothing more from HET or any other place, for years. If I put coin in at slots like I do at VP, I'd guarantee my mailbox would hold RFB, and three figure bounce back multiple times per year in multiple places. So it happens. I'll take my cash winnings, I can priceline my non gaming properties, and I look for deals where I can. Not playing for comps is the best advice ever given here. Good luck!
What some APs do, especially VP ones is to switch cards with other people. If you only play 100% games on bonus point days, switch cards with someone playing slots, or have an extra card that your friend uses on non-100% machines.
