Best place to play Low limit craps?

I have been practicing this game for the past 3 weeks in my home casino (Seneca Niagara) and I am now ready to try my hand in Vegas (next week 10/9-15). Looking for some more free advice. Another site has been helpful! I figured my LVA family would be the most knowledgeable!

T-10 days!

#1 Go somewhere with low table limits to make your bankroll last while your learning. For example, the Fremont casino on Fremont Street has $3 tables 24 hours, but can be a bitch to get on, and it tends to draw some real weird personalities. Boyd gives me good comps
#2 Don't listen to the Pass/Don't pass crap (the dark side) arguments. The object of the game is to win money. If I see the table going cold, I bet the don't pass. If a guy gets hot, I bet with him! Do them both, see what works for you.
#3 Learn when and how much odds to put down while playing both the pass and don't pass lines
#4 never play the middle of the table unless you are way up and then still keep it very limited.
#5 Not many tables have it anymore but never play the big 6&8. play the same numbers on the pass line. Same numbers but the pass line pays better.
#6 Never play electronic craps....it's sacrilegious!
#7 A good dealer will answer any and all questions if its not too busy.....ask questions! Those guys have seen it all!
#8 Comps count. If you buy in for $200, play for 4 hours, and then walk away with $200. You should have built up some good comps(and maybe had a few beers).....its a win, Good job!
#9 Be patient, that night that the stars line up and you win big will happen, but those nights are very few and far between. Small wins are the norm. (for me anyway)
#10 you can buy some cheap craps DVD's and books on e-bay. Its a great investment
#11 prayer never hurts!

let us know how you do and good luck! weggie
Bet the pass line and take odds. The odds bet is sometimes known as free odds because there's no house edge on it so the best strategy is to minimize your other bets and maximize your odds. I like to bet the minimum on the pass line and take as much odds as I want. Low table limits and high odds are good things for the player.

Also I don't recommend playing the field but if you do at least pick a table with the good payout structure where the 12 pays triple. Field bets where the 12 only pays double have twice the house advantage.
Low limit craps--Texas Station $3 with 10X odds. Boulder Station and El Cortez has $3 with 10X odds. Dealers at El Cortez not too swift. Plenty of nonstrip casinos have $5 minimums.

Casino Royale has a $3 table but just one. The only one I'm aware of on the strip. As per LVA they recently went from 100X odds to 20X, still good. I played some $5 craps at Bally's one weeknight in April and at Rio on a Wednesday night in April. I was surpised that Four Queens only had $10 craps on a Saturday morning (and empty tables).
Westin Casuarina right behind Bally's they have $3 Craps 5-8pm.
Well Champ, how low in denomination do you want to go? I'm asking this because if you are willing to go to Joker's Wild Casino in Henderson (which is Boyd Connected -- although they might have a different slot club card there, so check into that), they have $1 Minimum Craps with 10X Odds. With $1 Minimum, if you wanted to Place the 6 and/or 8, you could do it for $1.50 (I think that they have 25c Chips) instead of $3 or $6 at other casinos.

I think that their website is at: https://www.jokerswildcasino.com and then from there, go to the "Play" section.

WOW!!!! This is why I am a member of LVA! Thanks 1 and all for the feedback! $5.00 minimums are what APPEALS THE MOST! If hot then pass line will be $10.00. I've gotten a handle on the odds thing over the past few days playing at my home casino. And you are right Weggie..95% of the dealers that I have met have been very helpful!!!

T- 7 days 17 hrs and counting!!

Yep...El Cortez has low limits but none of their dealers speak English. Nice people for sure...but that can be tough if you are new to the game and have questions.

Boulder Station is my favorite place to play. Low limits. Usually enough people to have a good game going...but not too many that you cant get a spot at the table. Dealers are always nice.

Here's a good tip. If you want some "alone time" with a sparsely populated table....find yourself a nice grandma casino right before lunchtime. The tables will be dead. The dealers will be very eager to help you and explain the game. Just kinda boring is all. But its good for beginners. Try M-Resort, Cannery, Eastside Cannery, Silverton, ... the table players don't get going at these places until after dinner.

There are a bunch of short "how to" play craps, how to set dice, how to yada yada yada type videos on u-tube.It is a good way to kill an hour or two on a rainy day.
Warm up the tables champster.......I will be in Las Vegas in a few weeks!!!!
