Best place to play Low limit craps?

An empty or almost empty table is the way to go for a newbie. Most dealers will be very helpful, it helps them pass the time. If you get dealers that aren't helpful, move on. Eventually you'll get the hang of it and be able to play anywhere. Nothing more exciting than a hot craps table.

There is a "Free Gaming Classes" link in the Gambling Advisor link on this website that lists who teaches what games where and I see that several casinos are teaching Craps, so anyone interested should look into that!

If you see a young girl who came to Vegas for her 21st birthday and this is the first time she is playing craps,
bet everything you have on the pass line.

Ha ha ha! I don't know about betting the farm but believe it or not, profbac's advice is not far from the truth! I have made more than a few dollars from Vegas virgins at a craps table!
As an added bonus.....they also haven't figured out that everyone can see down there shirts as they lean over the table to throw the dice!

Got It!!!

T- 2 days, 4 hours and 33 mins till takeoff for.....VEGAS!!
My girlfriend isn't 21 but I think I've talked her into shooting the dice on our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks. Her first ever Vegas trip was April, she watched a lot but wouldn't play. This time I told her she HAS to at least be the shooter once. We'll see
1) Prof Bac is totally correct! But he ignores the fact that *any* beginner always wins big. OK, it's not a fact, but I can't tell you the number of times I have seen it happen. My suggestion to you that the first couple of times you get the dice, you bet three or four times your normal low-limit bet and then press relentlessly.
2) It's best to play progressive bets at craps. $5 on the pass line, $10 odds. After a win: $7,$15. Then $10,$20 and then maybe $10,$25. And so on. New shooter: start all over again. When the table gets hot, you win big, and limit losses on a cold table. Lot of people play come bets. I prefer just placing the 6 and 8 right off -- IF I've been winning a bit on my pass line bets.
Playing craps at a hot table is about as fun as gambling gets.
3) There is a book by a guy named Sam Grafstein that is one of the best gambling books I have ever read. It has lots of really great advice and is fun to read. https://www.amazon.com/Dice-Doctor-Sam-Grafstein/dp/158042273X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1381606337&sr=1-1&keywords=sam+grafstein
4) Please report in this topic exactly what happened.

Best time to play low level craps is in the mornings if you are playing on the strip, checkout Ballys and Quad. Later in the day they will raise the minimums and be busier. Off the strip, like Orleans, Gold Coast, Sam's etc offer $5 all day.

#5 Not many tables have it anymore but never play the big 6&8. play the same numbers on the pass line. Same numbers but the pass line pays better.
Lots of good advice in your post, but this caught my eye. I don't think I've ever seen a craps table that DIDN'T feature Big 6 & Big 8. Also, while I agree they're not wise bets, they're not at all the same bet as the pass or come line. They're only the same as the pass or come when the point has already been established as 6 or 8.

Bah, that's not true at all.

I recently played a lot of craps at El Cortez, met probably a couple dozen craps dealers, and each seemed fully fluent in English. A few of the stickmen were too soft-spoken with the calls for my ears, especially with that bizarre Elvis ritual in The Parlour going on, but they all spoke English just fine.
