Best Theo Return on Promo Chips

Given my game options, BJ had the lowest edge. I didn't get too cute or aggressive....flat bet and took advantage of DD opportunities but in the vast majority of cases, couldn't capitalize.

TWB, no comps on the play.....the whole thing took about 10 minutes.

Easy to Monday morning QB this.....just didn't get cards. If it went the other way, $15K chips could have been $25K cash. It was disappointing but at the end of the day, $5,500 more than I started with.

Dan,

Would the HR have allowed you to play roulette and cover 30 numbers with a $500.00 chip on each, then place $4000.00 (8 X $500.00 chips) of your own money on the remaining 8 numbers? Would that be considered off-setting bets? With every number covered for $500, you would have received 35 X $500 or $17500, but then lost your $4000, for a net gain of $13,500 + the $500 promo chip / real cash chip that hit.
A2Eddie...The chips had to be used on EVEN MONEY bets ONLY.

There is no way he could have pulled off that Roulette Miracle! heh heh

Yes, even money bets only.

Didn't want to be confrontational with them as I play there and didn't want to wear out my welcome.

Given the circumstances and rules, I'm not sure I would have done anything differently. Perhaps just playing single hand but perhaps it's hindsight that's leading me in that direction.

Have another tournament in a months time; this time prize pool is $150K. I'm hoping lightning can strike twice.

If you win again...you can hire me to be your player this time buddy!

I will make you some real cash!!

I will take 20% of the total profit...for my efforts of course

I appreciate you sharing you experience. Best of luck with the next tournament.

Dan,

My whole thinking about this has been that playing one hand at a time with this kind of play as opposed to two hands is better because I know that with Blackjack, your possibility of ending up playing against a Dealer's good for you and bad for them Up-Card (most especially a 4, 5 or 6) is a lot less than the chance of the Dealer having a good for them Up-Card (most especially the 9 through Ace) and so I felt that the more single hands that you have the chance to deal with, the less of a chance that more of the Dealer's Up-Cards would end up being not good for you to face.

So please keep that in mind and I wish you (as always) all the best (and that you at least end up placing somewhere in the money) during your upcoming tournament!

Sorry for my foolish question, as I just read part of this post. I do agree with David and you Dan, in that playing 30 hands X $500 might have been slightly better than 15 hands at (2 X $500). The more trials (hands) you can get in, the more your results will approach the actual house edge. There likely wouldn't have been a lot of difference between 15 hands and 30 hands though.

Good luck with your next tournament!!
