I was at the Vegas Club a few years back. Playing VP (.25 DDB) next to my brother-in-law. We were both full of booze and having a good time. I got dealt ten high...no legitimate straight or flush draw. He was laughing at me, complimenting me on my "great hand" and jokingly asked me how I was gonna play it. I hit the draw button for 5 new cards and BAM!! a royal in spades for $1000. I buried $400 in my wallet, put $300 in my front pocket, gave him $300, and we went to the Girls of Glitter Gulch for a nightcap! (Please don't tell my sister)
Two years later my dad went along with us. His first time in Vegas, and he hadn't played a hand of VP in his life. We were at the Plaza...bro-in-law and I were showing him how to play. He watched us for an hour or so, then decided to give it a shot on his own. It literally took dad a minute plus to play each hand. He would study the cards, look at the paytable, think for awhile, and finally make a decision. We stood behind him laughing amongst ourselves at how slow he played. He was down to $3.75 of his first $20 bill when he got dealt a royal in clubs. He cashed out his ticket, turned to us, and said "this video poker isn't so hard after all!"
