Bonus Poker VP at the El Cortez

I just saw a report that Bonus Poker at the El Cortez has been reduced to 6/5 and they reduced all of the 4OAK hands to 125 units.  If that is true, and 4 5-K pay 125, 4 2s,3s,4s pay 125, and 4 aces pays 125, we're talking a 94.9961%EV game.  Absolutely horrible.  I don't know where inside the ElCo this is happening, but if someone can verify, that would be helpful.  At 1 coin, this is a 93.76% game.  Just wow.  I hope it's not true at all.  That's bad.

That bites.  Hope it isn't contagious.  I've never seen a schedule like that, even in Strip casinos.

Which makes me think this is a clerical error. A JOB-based game that pays 25 to 1 on ALL quads isn't "Bonus" Poker at all, so I can't imagine this pay schedule existing.

There are quite a few total shit variations of Bonus Poker, including one that pays even money on two pair (!!), but there's always some kind of boost on certain quads.

I was at the El Cortez last week and never saw the game described (I searched for it), so no worries.

Thanks for the update Neil,  I hope you had a great time.  We really liked the show room bar the last time we were there.   The last few times the cafe was a little weak, did you check it out with the LVA coupon ?

Did I eat at Siegel's using the coupon?  Yup, sure did.  Siegel's is overpriced now.  My friend paid $16.99 for 3 pancakes.  Without the coupon, I wouldn't bother eating there.  We also ate at Hot Noods and it was pretty bad.  Very, very bland food, slow service, and the waiter would hover over us just a few feet away as there were very few customers at 7pm on a Monday.  We should have gone to the thai place across the street.
