Last summer I gave the Island Resort and Casino up by Escanaba, Mi (in the upper peninsula) some play (3 hours at the craps table and some VP). This last fall they started sending me some offers for a free room and $30 in free play. I stayed overnight with my daughter last week at their casino on my way to visit my parents in Michigan. I ran $10 of my FP and cashed out with $15. After dinner, I let my daughter use the remaining $20 and boy did she clean up. She decided to play pick-a pair video poker, but with a deuces wild variation. She started playing at the nickle level and hit four "ducks" on the sixth hand for a $100 jackpot. She cashed out and put a $20 in another machine, playing JOB at the quarter level and within 10 minutes cashed out with another $100 profit. Another $20 in a slot machine and again cashed out with another $100+ TITO. She then started playing a penny slot and when her $20 buy-in was almost gone, she hit the max bet button and hit a $600 jackpot. I finally had to drag her back to the room at 2:30 in the morning. She used that $20 in free play and walked away with over a $600 profit when the dust settled. Needless to say, she paid for our breakfast in the morning.
