Circa Sports Million IV Pro Football

First year i'm entering this contest.  As I understand it the Circa Sports Million IV Pro Football contest is 5 picks against the spread.  So for example the Bills vs Rams on Thrusday night on 8 September 2022, Bills at -2.5 and LA Rams +2.5. I'm guessing I would pick the Rams as the underdog to go against the spread.  According to the rules, one correct pick is 1 point, a push is .5 points and wrong answer is 0 points.    Does that sound right to my fellow LVA contest players?

Unless you're talking about one of those high-entry-fee contests with limited size fields, there's one immutable truth about football contests: you won't win Jack diddly if you go with the herd. The reason is, even if you're right, you'll be sharing the prize pool with too many others.

So I would focus on: underdogs, non-West Coast teams, and any teams that got their asses handed to them the previous week on national TV (a team that lost by 31 points on Monday Night Football is always a good bet). This is known as the "contrarian" approach.

Let me emphasize that this strategy doesn't necessarily increase your chances of winning; it increases the amount of the prize you get when you do win.
