First of all, those three casinos are all adjacent, so you can stay at any one and have access to the other two. SL would be my first choice, and Circus Circus Circus Circus my last. You might find the lowest prices at the Pepto Bismol Palace, though. There used to be quite a difference among the three before CET ate them all.

As far as gambling goes, $5 crap tables can be found, even on weekends, at all three properties. The general table minimums are highest at the SL and lowest at CC. Again, though, the differences might be less now than when the three properties were separately owned. If you can't find low-limit tables, you can saunter south one block to the Cal-Neva, where you might even find $1 or $2 limits (haven't been there since the pandemic). Blackjack often has "Reno rules" (double on 10 or 11 only), but you can still find some single and double deck. While Reno has contracted 6 to 5 disease, those games aren't nearly as ubiquitous as on the LV Strip. You can generally find $5 tables, even on weekends.

The food options are great. Eldorado has a wide variety of excellent restaurants. If they have their buffet reopened--go there. The coffee shop--called Tivoli Gardens, if memory serves--is terrific. At Pepto Bismol, there's a great steakhouse, kind of hidden upstairs, just like their sister property in Vegas. Obviously, what will be open and available when you get there is hard to predict. There are also some good non-casino restaurant choices downtown, though the pandemic hit them hard: ask around.

Weather: it will still be summer. There's quite a difference between the first and second halves of September, though. Early on, highs will be in the high 90s. It cools down quite a bit after mid-month. It will definitely be dry and sunny all day. It will be much more comfortable than the continuing infernos of Vegas and Laughlin.

There's one overriding consideration. The Nugget Rib Cook-off is on the first weekend of September and the Reno Air Races are on the third weekend. These events pack the town, and in the unlikely event you can even find a room, you'll pay Vegas-style prices for it. It'll be even worse than usual, since neither event happened last year.

Also...if you can't find a decent rate for when you want to come, check the Sands Regency. It's an older place with HUGE, comfortable rooms, and only a block (easy walk) from the CET "Row." Its gambling is crappy, but at least there's Mel's Diner, a great place for breakfast. Don't go near the buffet, should they make the misbegotten decision to bring it back. It would have had to improve by several notches in order to make it to "bad."

Thanks Kevin, super info.
