You shouldn't let your political opposition to my views color your responses.

I doubt very much that you were completely alone eight consecutive times on that bank. Those machines are popular. What you're claiming sounds like hyperbole. But I'm not going to call you a liar.

I know I saw those plaques when the machines were in their prior location near the north entrance. I also know that I earned no points on those machines for my play, as the plaques said. Certainly, I could have been hallucinating.

It's possible that they're paying SOME points now. Have you calculated it? Are they awarding their standard 0.167% on those machines? I said that my info wasn't recent and that I hadn't played there in 18 months. I also said that a friend who is a local said that those machines still have point restrictions.

But I guess that your "take" is more "valid" than mine. If your experience is more recent than mine, you could be right and I could be wrong about the current conditions there. I don't understand what you mean by my "retaining" or not your posts. Whatever you post here stays here. I can't blot it out, nor do I want to.

I'm a bit puzzled by your white-hot anger here. Is it because I've been criticizing Trump? Or are your joints aching in the cold or something? Because you seem rather vehement about this.

David Miller does report an experience similar to yours BTW. But I stand by what I said. Your info is more recent than mine. No way were you the only player at that bank eight consecutive times. Maybe they were eating cats in the coffee shop?

I hope that whatever's irritating you goes away soon.

My response was in respect to what I experienced the 10th and 11th of this month. What may have been no longer is. Current data is what was asked about - what happened in the past is no longer relevant.

There are exactly two machines with that game remaining, and they're .05 denoms only. I do think they're 10-coin, though.

Boyd doesn't give you ANY points if you're on the bottom tier. Then they give you 0.05% (one twentieth of one percent) once you escape from that...which takes a rather hefty amount of coin-in--$75,000, if memory serves. Then if you don't play for six months, they'll kick you back down to Dirt level.

Allow me to repeat the advice I've offered to so many others. Get thee to Emerald Island. Great games, great promos, great and inexpensive food. You'll get showered with freebies just for signing up. And the LVA wheel spin coupons are worth a total of $36. Play NSUD and 10/6 DB for stakes as low as five cents.

Yes Kevin I also figured out where to play. I like Emerald and Rainbow. Staff is friendly, especially at the Rainbow and also the bartenders at Emerald are very friendly. I love it there. HIt 2 Royals  during my visit in November (one in each casino in Henderson).  MIssed to hit 4 deuces with Ace kicker and was forced to leave the high progressive to someone else....

Why would any casino post a sign saying 'you won't earn any points playing this machine'?  And, certainly points must be earned in the lowest tier to be able to advance to the next tier.  Maybe those first tier points aren't usable to spend, but somehow they'd have to be earned to advance.

I have seen (not at AC's but elsewhere) signs that say something to the effect that 'Free Play cannot be played on this machine'.  Perhaps 'free play not available' or some other wording that can be mistakenly interpreted as no points earned.  I'm just butting in here because I've never played at AC's, but I'm a word/sentence construction nut similar to Kevin.

And if you are willing to go to Sam's Town, it's not too far down the road to Emerald Island.

We used to love going to Sams Town, but rarely go now.  Now spend time at Emerald/Rainbow

They pretty much have to post such signs if they don't want to be besieged by complaints when people play those machines and realize that they've earned zero points. And those signs are unequivocal: "No points earned on this machine" or some such.

The situation you describe, where points are earned but worthless except for tier advancement, is a Boyd specialty. And since how and how many points are earned depends on tier level, they couldn't really post a sign explaining that in sufficient detail.

I remember some time ago, when Sam's Town had a few FPDW machines, I played quarters for two hours, and at the end of my session, I had earned...one point. So they appear to feel that you should know when you don't earn points.

This topic came up a few months ago.  Kevin gave his incorrect take on it and I corrected him.  Now a few months later, let me do it again (Kevin, this time, can you retain what I post and not post your invalid take again?)

Kevin has this idea that the machines had a plaque saying no points would be awarded.   I told him in the prior thread this wasn't the case.  I have played on this bank of machines at least 8 times in the past 3 years, and in that time 1) they never had a plaque, 2) EACH of those 8 times I played this bank of machines, I was the only one playing the bank, contrary to Kevin's claim that the bank is "tied up around the clock".  The times I played were usually late afternoon, nothing like 3am.   3) When you post this claim " But there's no way in hell that they're paying out their regular 0.167% in players' club points."" you again totally wrong  They paid points.   In other words, you couldn't be more on this entire topic, Kevin, and MUCH of this was already discussed here on this very board, just a couple of months ago!

And yes, this is the APDW bank.  Not maybe, not probably, certainly, with the APDW payscale.

Now Kevin, you are famous for ripping people here for not reading or learning.  The latest is when you ripped Binion's Steakhouse staff for not reading the terms of the coupon.  So I ask Kevin, why don't you hold yourself to the same standards as you hold others?

Your take was wrong, you were corrected, and yet your latest post is even more factually false than your prior one.

Not true......it is impossible for Kevin to be wrong and if he is, it has to be some type of political attack on the poor guy.  Good thing he never attacks anyone.....

And this isnt a personal attack? Hmmm. I think they call that a "fluid definition."

Rivers Casino in Philly has a bank of VP machines marked"this machine does not earn points and does not accept freeplay". As I recall there were about six of them. Haven't been there in awhile so do not know if this is still accurate.

JoAnn

For some strange reason, people here seem to think that a "no points earned" sign on a machine is incredibly uncommon. Actually, virtually every Vegas casino that had fullpay VP--always, of course, a locals' casino--pasted such signs on their best machines as the first step in their downgrades. The next step was to remove all but a few of those machines; the final step was to remove them altogether. Then, in cases where some "almost positive" machines remained, the points earned were drastically slashed or stopped altogether. In the latter case, it was easier to tell people ahead of time that they weren't going to earn any points then to deal with angry players later.
