did I miss something-wizard and dancer have differing strategy charts

I just about gave up trying to learn quick quads. But, I had a lazy day to myself so I went online, a la googling, for strategy charts. Unless I miss something, for QQ JOB 9/6, it appears there is a big difference in shackleford versus dancer, especially at trips versus flush. shack rates trips higher than flush. dancer oppo.

I guess I don't wanna learn to play QQ. It makes my head hurt. Any help appreciated.
Hey JM,

Although I'm not sure of this, it could be that The Wizard is more like Dan Paymar on this kind of thing where he is willing to sacrifice a little bit of the game's return in order to make the strategy holds a little easier for the players instead of aiming to get every last fraction of a Penny in return that Dancer does.

David, I'm sure you're correct on the nit-pickiness element. And, post-posting my post, I studied the differences shack and dan display. Did I mention it hurts? Literally. The last think I did before reactor scram suggested one of em ? May have mislabeled the bonus strategy (no use to me) as JOB since trips are ranked so high. Guess I'll be slinging dice in boomtown when in NOLA Friday. I've enjoyed my comps there, 2 years running, but quoth fred, don't marry casinos. Good luck!
I think RecVPPlayer has it right.

Dancer has a business interest in making video poker seem very difficult, and so he tends to emphasize intricate strategy details that others are willing to overlook as too minor to worry about.

Not saying Dancer's wrong, just that he probably focuses on more minutia than the recreational player needs to worry about.

Yes, exactly! I'm not saying either that what Dancer is doing is wrong, but at least for recreational players who are more likely to not be playing long enough to get into the long run, a slight deviation in strategy play can make play a bit easier to deal with for the recreational players who may be less interested in squeezing out every last fraction of a cent in return.

Nice respectful discussion. Pleases my eyes, promotes endorphins not catecholamines. Thanks veddy much old chaps. Mayhap I'll have another go at these charts tryna ignore the obvious ( ie when am I gonna see a flush and trips in the SAME dealt hand) but work at the 3 card Sf angle 'cause both of 'em grind out QQ potential as if that happens much with A23. Should nothin' change, I'll be on the gulf Friday. Full report to follow. Good luck!
If I lived in Las Vegas and played every week or if I played games for stakes higher than quarters, I'd go with Dancer's strategy. Since I don't live there and only play for quarters, I don't think it's worth it to memorize hands that save one cent over the course of playing through a thousand dollars.
Tks to helping post-peoples!
Well, the WOO and da DAN (cer) are confirmed as divergent, according to todays column. Sooooo....I've got about nothing going for me, which is nice. Before I launch myself at SLS's high(25c) ev games, are there places to learn the them? And not get a headache? Thanks and good luck!

On the Wizard's website is place where you can practice at least some of the different games. Otherwise, maybe try downloading the Free "Frugal Video Poker" program if you don't have the original software, or maybe Dan Paymar's program "Optimum Video Poker."
