Expired TITO-Covid

I got home from a Jan. 2020 trip to Harrah's Laughlin with a $25 TITO I overlooked.  Last month I took it to the cashier there hoping they would wave the six month expir and cash it.  The cashier said sorry but it is beyond the expiration date.  I told her I was aware that at some places they would cash an expired TITO at the cage.  She said sorry but NO.  I said thanks anyway and sulked away, leaving the ticket in her hands.  Mistakes:

1. I failed to keep that ticket.  I must have been tired or had tee many martoonies.

2. I didn't think about the fact that the casino closed due to the virus shortly after my trip, didn't open until recently.

I asked my Host about it, don't they ever cash expired tickets at Harrah's Laughlin?  Host said she will give me $25 in Free Play when I return in Dec.  Because THEY WERE CLOSED within the six month period in which the TITO was valid.  Yay!!

It is nice of her, especially since I don't have the ticket to prove my case.  But she knows me well.

This is just to advise everyone, if you have a TITO that expired during and beyond the casino closure period, and you could only recently make it back to that casino, you can make a case for having it cashed.  KEEP THE TICKET.

There are a lot of exceptions and accommodations to points and tier levels being instituted at many of the casinos due to the extended closures.

Frankly, they should honor the ticket even if it was generated in 1867. It's an IOU. Period.

Your initial mistake was in letting the cashier fob you off. Remember, as we all know, casino boothlings of all varieties will lie to your face just to get rid of you. I've received more misinformation from low-level casino employees than from DMV clerks, and that's saying a lot.

I find that for such indignities, a Level One Bitch is usually sufficient. Ask the boothling's immediate supervisor for help. In rare cases, you need a Level Two Bitch--the supervisor's supervisor. A Level Three Bitch---pulling strings with one's host---almost always works but it's like calling in a favor; you may wish to save it for something more valuable.

The Level Four Bitch, "It says 'Golden Commode Casino' and '$25' on it and you'd better cash it right now or I'll burn this friggin' joint to the ground," might be effective in the short term, but then you'll have to start running for the exits.

There was no TITO in 1867 - "Frankly, they should honor the ticket even if it was generated in 1867."

I'm sure there was gambling in 1867, but doubt they had a TITO system back then.

I'm not too worried about saving the Host favor of $25 in Free Play for something more valuable.

But it is for sure that I should have asked the cashier-ling to consult with her supervisor.  Hell, she may have cashed that ticket herself, very possible.  Live and learn.

I was being ironic. Duh.

Stalker has resumed stalking me.

I think everybody has a similar experience at one time or another.    I left Sams Town with a $12 TITO in my wallet.     I was staying downtown and in my room when I noticed it.   COuldn't bring myself to drive all the way back down there just for $12   so I hoped MSS would cash it since it is also a BOYD property.   Nope.

The only time I ever did something like that, I popped it in the mail and got a check two weeks later. Don't remember the particular casino.

I also mailed in a $25 chip in the good old days, to the old Holiday, if memory serves, and got a check in about two weeks.

I also tried phoning up the Horseshoe and told them I had lost $300 playing craps there and could they please send me a refund. No check was sent. What lousy customer service!
