Free Coin Exchanges Are a Thing Again at Las Vegas Casinos

Bellagio actually had a coin changer not so many years ago, but alas it disappeared.   My husband would frequently cycle a pocketful of change through.

Ellis Island had a promo not so long ago where they would give you a 10% bonus for turning in coins! I brought them $400 worth of quarters! I guess this was to encourage people to break Junior's piggy bank or something.

A couple years ago I remember there was a coin exchange machine at MGM. As long as you were cashing in all your quarters from Sigma Derby, they wouldn’t charge you a fee. After Sigma Derby finally died, I casually wondered if the coin exchange machine was still around but never bothered to go look for it.

If you have a player's card for Gold Coast or The Orleans, the main cage/cashier window will exchange your coins  for bills at no cost. I have done it many times.

El Cortez has always offered free change redemption for slot club members.    They have a self-serve kiosk that prints you a ticket that can be redeemed at the cashier cage.     Its in the room adjacent to the main parking garage behind Siegels.

One of many reasons I've been a loyal patron to ELCo for years.
