grandfathered in

when the table stakes go up you are normally grandfathered in at the lower stakes till u leave or so i thought.. i was at cleveland horseshoe, table stakes went up and 4 of the 5 players are at the minimum and bosses said no such thing as grandfathering in . just wondering if it has happened to anyone else ???
We had this happen to me and my wife like 5 years ago at Foxwoods and we were grandfathered in. But when we had this same scenario happen to us last year there we were told we would have to pay the new table price. So I think a lot of casinos are now like that. At least out here they are.
Happened to me at the Nugget in Reno while playing craps. The entire table of 5 people just up and left, not a very smart policy in my opinion.
That happened to us in Feb. @ Ballys, playing let it ride, the pit boss came up and said, @ 7 the table goes up to $10. It was s full table, many of us haas been playing several hours. @ 7, the whole table cleared out and most of us went to the $5 3 card tables. Ballys only had 2 let it ride tables. I played 3 card for 2 more hours and never did see anyone sit down at the one table.

Hubby and I were playing @ Aria a few years back at a $10 3 cared table. Pit boss came up and changed it to a $15 but told us we were fine since we'd been playing awhile. About an hour later he comes back and changes is to a $25' told us the same thing. We asked the dealer what that was all about and he said they wanted to shut down that table but would stay open as long as we wanted to play since no one would want to play a $25 game when there were 3 others still at $15.

It varies by casino policy. I would get up and leave if they tried to bump me after I'd been playing a while.
Although it may be somewhat inconvenient, there is just way too many casinos to be forced to play above your comfort level.

5/6 years ago I stopped at a table game at MGM, after seeing "KA", to play some Paigow. Limits jumped from 10-15 while I was sitting down. I hadn't been very lucky until that point and asked about being grandfathered in to which the pit boss scoffed. I left and went to the Excalibur and sat down to a $10.00 game. 6 years later and I have yet to sit down at another paigow game at MGM! Can't say that I've missed it 1 bit.

Too many choices and so little time to enjoy yourself in VEGAS. Someone will accommodate you!
Non-Grandfathering is the norm at the midwest Casino's/boats but, I "never" ran into it in Vegas in the past 35+ years until last year at a Bally's Crap table on a Wednesday night in Sep.
I never give them a shot at my money under their limits so I always walk. I hope this is not another TREND.
Seems to depend on the casino, in Vegas the table is normally told after the neck deck the min is going up.
It used to be common in all Vegas casinos to be grandfathered in, but more and more are going the other way now. I'll leave if that's the case, I don't like it. The casinos in the midwest that I've been to all do not allow anyone to be grandfathered in.
My hubby and I were playing last spring at the Rio and there were about 6 of us playing Let it Ride. The pit boss came over and changed the sign to $10. He told us that those that were at the table could continue to play for 30 minutes at the $5 rate. When it changed we all left as well.
