Green Valley Ranch or Aquarius

We just cut our trip to GVR short because of a lack of fun and less than stellar social distancing. We found the powers that be are not interested in maintaining safe social distancing. They could have been proactive like Caesars and started mandatory face masks before the very last minute (although they all should have started on June 4th). They left all machines on and removed chairs. They don't prevent people from moving the chairs to a machine that is next to someone they do't live with. The Sip bar had way too many people and none of them maintaining a 6-5-4-3-2 foot distance. All bars seem to let people play next to someone even though they have to stand due to the chairs having been removed. They downgraded their slot club below Golden Gaming's club. They did away with the buffet (expected), but also cut all but the late night specials from the Grand Cafe menu. They took out twenty-six of the fifty-one "up to 99.8%" machines. We probably won't ever go back. For now, we'll be gaming at the Aquarius unless we find out that Sunset or Palace Stations haven't done away with their up to 99.8 % machines and are maintaining social distancing. Aquarius shut down machines and removed the chairs to maintain social distancing. They have two no smoking sections that we can play in and not worry about social distancing or people removing their masks to kill themselves and others around them. We stopped there on our way home to Golden Valley AZ and observed an employee telling a guest to put their mask on. That wasn't happening at GVR. We really appreciated that little bit of enforecement.

Good for you.Apparently the casino(s) values your money more than your continued business, plus your health does not mean anything to them.

Sad to hear, but thanks for the report.  I hope you expressed this to management, or to someone who could convey it to management.

Another thing is people with their masks covering their chins, not the mouth/nose area.  (Seen on TV news...haven't been to a casino yet.)   I've decided I will politely say someone when I see that.  After all, if they are going to the trouble of putting the mask on, they may as well wear it correctly.

For what it is worth, In my opinion people who wrongly wear their masks are looking for someone to argue with, after all, they have their "rights". I would avoid them like the plague.

I get that, but then I've been called "Hall Monitor" here on LVA, so I'm going for it!  LOL.

Maybe I'll try "Hi, I bet you've forgotten to pull your mask up."   I won't hang around for a fight.

I can actually see if somebody had maybe eaten or some other reason to have pulled the mask down and forgot to pull it back up.   Ah, me, that silly benefit of the doubt thing.

PackerBackerAZ:

Since you already took the time to explain here all the reasons why you left early and likely will not return, I strongly suggest you forward this same information directly to the folks at GVR.

I think they should be made aware that their recent reduction (or in some case elimination) of player comp points; reduced video poker inventory and pay table cuts; combined with the current lackluster worker and patron safety criteria are at the heart of it.

It's too bad, as GVR had been the top place at which I liked to play and stay in the Vegas/Henderson area.

When I explained my reasons for leaving early, with no plans to return, I was met with pretty much so what The person I spoke to did say they would check out the people moving chairs and sitting next to people not in their household. No indication that they would be turning off any machines. Nothing about the downgraded slot club or lack of daily specials on the Grand Cafe menu. Definitely made me feel warm and fuzzy and wanting to be abused even more.
