So last trip my wife was in a slot tourney at Orleans. Had a really great run and came in 2nd (missed 1st & $8k by less than 200 points out of 45,000). We get back and waiting for her was an invite to SP for a 40K tourney and 3 nights. Last time we were at SP was 3 years ago and I gave up on them because there were no offers forthcoming (I had put thru $8k in one day on her card). Needless to say she said lets go because I'm on a streak! I had planned on an August trip anyway. So we are booked. Crossing my fingers as I lost a bunch last trip.

Very nice, Captain Bill! I say that you certainly could go to a Slot Tournament because you just never know with them since you certainly could end up placing and winning some kind of money -- maybe even a lot of money! I would definitely not call them lost causes!

I would consider talking to a Southpoint host/hostess. The hotel has been known to be generous with hotel and food comps, but not very good mailers. I'm comped there often and I'm not a large player. Once established with one, just make a call/email and tell them when you're coming and they usually are very accommodating. At the end of my trip, I'll give my host a gift card as a reminder of who I am, etc.

Cap'n: a number of us use Courtney Whitaker as a host at SP. The hosts have an office on the left as you walk to the room elevators.
