How I hit a $10k jackpot on VP

Well I hit my biggest win ever this past weekend at Harrah's Cherokee.

Here's what I was doing. Call it the "LVA Shockwave".....

(Do Not try this on a Shockwave game, do it on a Bonus VP game where the quads pay high)

Play your normal VP on a multi-demo machine. When you hit 4 Oaks, change to the denomination 4-5 times higher for 10 hands.

Example: Playing $1 DDB. You hit 4 Kings for $250. Change to $5 DDB and Play 10 hands. You'll burn up that win but have a chance to hit a big one.

I started doing this a while back, normally don't hit another Oak but a few FH and Flushes did improve my credit balance after 10 hands. Also you're getting paid at the 4x level on ALL wins not just quads. After 10-hands return to $1 level.

It paid off for me on Sunday. I was playing TDB on a $1 Game King, hit quad 8s, changed to $5 TDB, and a few hands later the VP Gods gave me a very nice dealt. I prayed hard for a kicker and my prayer was answered.....

OMG! I normally do not get too emotional in casinos but I was shaking too hard to hold the cell phone still while taking the picture. (The New) Mrs. Blade was stunned, she had to go sit down and cry. During the drive to the casino we had talked about some wish list big ticket items for the house like a new garage door but would likely wait until finances were a little better unless we hit a "big one".... now we'll be going shopping this week.

Also learned something new: Harrah's will withhold 25% for Federal Taxes if you ask them to. I normally have enough win/loss that I never worry about it but took that option on this Honker of a Jackpot.

Not saying LVA Shockwave VP is a guaranteed full proof system, but if you're VP is running hot you might consider giving it a "gamble".

Good luck.... now someone go hit a RF!!!!

Wow! Great hit. I employ a similar strategy when playing three play or five play wheel poker. I start on dimes but if I get a 4-of-a-kind and a good spin I bump it up to quarters. (You can see my bankroll is not as rich as yours!) But sometimes if you then get some good hands while playing quarters you can really build up your bankroll.
As you noted it doesn't always work but it's worth a try. I always feel like I'm playing with house money (though by Dad always tried to disabuse me of that idea. He said "Once you win it, it's your money, not theirs" ) I never listened.
That is awesome. I was there last weekend for the Diamond event. Lost my butt. Were they the uprights near the cashier cage? Thanks for the tip. I may try it Thursday on my next visit.
Way to go on the jackpot Blade! Mr. Rizzo will be very proud!

Interesting, Blade! Thank you for posting that!

Bank of 6 uprights near the cashier cage in what is currently somewhat of the High Limit area of the casino. Now go get yourself a Jackpot!
Hey Blade, Yep that's them. I got a dollar royal on one of them in February. Had no luck last week.
Wow wow!! Nice!!
