I have tended to go to LV about three or four but mostly three times a year for a while now (for maybe four days at a shot) and so I don't think that I go that much more than you do.
Now in 9/6 Jacks Or Better a Quad comprises about 6% of the overall game's return but with DDB, that goes up to comprise a lot of the game's overall return and so if you don't get a Quad in DDB in combination with already having Two Pair paying 1 instead of 2, that can make things pretty bad!
That is why I tend to restrict my play to no more than 10/7/5 Double Bonus Poker. That tends to be volatile enough for me!
