Laughlin comps

Hi, all. Not sure if this is correct Forum, but I did see another Laughlin post here.

For almost 20 years we never paid for a room in Laughlin - offers stuff our mailbox. We were last there in September and had two extra rooms for friends (Aquarius and Edgewater). We received a couple more mailings after that, and then everything stopped. We called to book for New Years and so far best we found is $125/night at Pioneer. Does anyone know if there has been a global policy change?

On a similar note, we have been comped at Downtown Grand in Vegas since the beginning. It's now been almost four months since getting an offer. We were there in the summer and got cards at several other Downtown casinos and have received nothing from anyone. It's like when Four Queens changed - one day we could call Host and get last minute comps on busy weekends, the next the agent said "I know it's stupid, but we don't comp rooms anymore." Haven't spent a dime there since.

Update - turns out New Years is unique, in that it is on a weekend. 

The Four Queens information you have is not correct.  All casinos comp rooms!   In the case of Four Queens, I've had comp room offers (with no cutbacks) for at least the last 7 years from them.   Either the agent you quoted doesn't know what they are talking about, or there was a misunderstanding there.   I suspect your play fell short of comp room requirements.  Most casinos have increased play requirements for comp rooms in the last 5 or so years, including the Four Queens.

Four Queens has been comping us for years also-you might want to try them again.

Downtown Grand is not reliable. October to December offer for us was one comped room per month.

We called early and available nights were limited.

Can't offer anything on Laughlin.
