Let's Talk Craps

I took one of Beau Parkers (AKA the dice coach) classes years ago and I really think it helped me go from a rookie craps player to "an informed rookie" or even an intermediate craps player.
I try everything possible to be as knowledgable about craps as possible, so doing one of Beau's classes for me was a no brainer. There were three people at the cllass and he allowed my wife to sit in on the class for free. That night he took the whole group to the Orleans casino and the Bellagio. I won $32 that night (hey, it was a win!)
I have all of John Patricks videos (DVD;s), I have the Golden Touch craps video ($300!), I have a stack of craps books a foot tall on my book shelf next to the easy chair.....I just get a kick out of trying differant things at a craps table and if I couldnt afford the $179 for Beau's class I probably shouldnt be at a craps table either!
By the way,I was at the Las Vegas Hiltons annual craps tournament a few years back and reintroduced myself to Beau before the tourney started. A little while later Beau got knocked out of the tourny but stuck around to give me extreamly valuable advice and between my dice setting and his advice I made it to the final table and and eventually went home with $5,000! and he never aske for a dime. I have the plaque on my my wall to this day.
I dont buy stocks based upon anyone giving me a tip, but I will listen to them, and I do not do everything that beau suggested. I just keep it all in my head and hope some magical night, it will all come together!

I've never been much of a craps player but my Dad loved the game! He would often head down to Atlantic City from his home in New York to play. A friend of his told me this story and I'd like to share it.

The old man loved the "Yo 11" bet. One night in AC he's playing craps with this friend and they're playing as partners. He hits a $10, Yo 11 and wants to press the bet, the friend wants to take the money, but my Dad insists that they should let it ride. The friend reluctantly says ok. It hits again. Now they are up over 2 grand and my Dad wants to press the bet again! The friend is demanding, begging, pleading with my Dad to take the money. The whole table is taking sides as they argue. Finally the old man gives in and takes the money off the table. The next roll brings another 11. The friend told me he really thought he was going to have to take the bus back home.

My Dad passed away back in 2005. Before they closed the casket, I placed a pair of dice under his hands, remembering to set the dice with the five and the six together. Yo 11!
That's an awesome story, Patcamp, thanks for sharing!

I broke my craps cherry back in '82. First time in Vegas and I was overwhelmed. All I really knew about craps was pass and don't pass. I won an even $50 at blackjack the night before. The next morning I went downstairs to buy the local paper and get a couple sodas for me and my wife. I had two greenies in my pocket from my blackjack winnings. I stopped at the only open craps table and nervously set down one $25 chip on the pass line as the off markers were face up. The shooter rolled a hard six and came right back with a 7 out. I never played craps again that trip, but I was determined that I would study up when I got home, gain some knowledge and give it another try on my next trip. Been lovin' the game ever since.
Love to play craps. Nothing beats the fun of being at a hot table.
