Low cost Poker tournament or games downtown

I leave for Vegas in a few days and some of the people going with me want to play Texas holdem. They are looking for low limit tables downtown or even a tournament with a less expensive buy in and rebuy. Any thoughta
I have been researching the same thing. Look up poker tournaments at allvegaspoker.com
The Fitz recently closed its poker room, so the best choices downtown are Binion's and Golden Nugget. Both spread 2-4 limit and 1-2 no-limit. There are different rules for the straddle in 1-2 NL between the two rooms. There is occasionally a small stakes game at ElCo, but the other two are more likely to be going when you walk in. You may find a small stakes game going at the Plaza.

An alternative is to hop the Sam's Town shuttle and play at Sam's Town.

For low limit games, you can't beat Orleans; it's a favorite for the locals. If you want to play a bit higher than that, you can't beat Venetian.

MGM (on Tropicana) will occasionally spread a 50 cent - $1 no limit game for beginners.

That made me chuckle because after my last 2 trips I've come to the the conclusion that I can't beat the no 1-2 or 1-3 (I can't remember) no limit game at Venetian so I've decided to stay away. Up until the last 2 trips I had been able to beat the games. Maybe it was just the way things went on my most recent trips, but I'm going to stay away during my upcoming trip. MGM games, in my experiences have been softer anyway.

Wow, that's odd, because for me, it was the exact opposite. I couldn't beat the 1-2 at Venetian my first four sessions. Just awful. Now it's like an ATM for me.

Cindy and I love Tournament no linit Texas Play online, play free money only. We have done some local bar free play too, to understand real live play with chips. It is just for fun.

Now for real money, neither she or I want to spend any huge "Time Outs" playing a tournament in Vegas.

And a real tournament to us does not allow re-buys in. You start, you play with what you have to start with, and go as far as you can, PERIOD!

Now with that said, there is a cheapy Tournament done at Bills, once, twice (?) times an afternoon.
It is like $30-40 buy in, and the best part is, it last only about an hour.

We plan to do this once a day, if possible. This is perfect for us...

An hour+ (We like that, a nice break in A/C)
Cheap (Yea!)
A real enlimiantion tournament (no big stack money has any influence... for..........
No RE-BUYS!!!!!!!!!!

Does this sound like something that would interest you?

I know it is not downtown, and maybe it is too on the cheap, so sorry if I miss the mark on this question.

There is a Gaming Tournaments link in Las Vegas if you go to the link that is through the Casino Gaming section of this website.

What Rec said.

I just got a mailer for a Texas hold'em tourney, but I'm sorry to say I tossed it
cuz I don't play them. Don't recall which casino.

Hope you find somewhere good to play.........and post a TR when you get back Adam.
