March Madness

Looking for some advice on the best sports books to watch the NCAA March Madness Games. My neighbor and I are going without the wives so fancy rooms and spa ameneties are not critical to this visit. Thanks in advance for any advice on this topic
Las Vegas Hilton has the best sports book, plus the waitress service is very good during March Madness. The rooms there are very very nice and I think they're running a special during that time. You might call .... something like $41.26/night (not sure if that's weekend rate or average rate).
I've taken a guys-only March Madness trip to Vegas for several years in a row. It's a great time.

When we started you could get free cocktails for sports bets almost anywhere, but anymore....not so much. Most places want big (for us, anyway) bets for a single drink ticket, but since there are very few seats available unless you camp out all day anyway, it's easy enough to impersonate a slot player to get a cocktail and then head back to the book. A lot of places set up huge ad hoc sports books (Fremont, P-Ho, Orleans, to name a few) in ballrooms where they have big screens and drink specials. You can usually get a seat in there, especially for the later games.

Last time we were at the Hilton they still comped drinks, and the Imperial Palace will comp drinks all day in the race book, but not in the sports area. Sometimes we'll just sit at a bar playing video poker S-L-O-W-L-Y and watch the games on the bar TVs.

As far as cheap rooms, we like the IP. Can't beat the center strip location close to a lot of sports books and poker rooms with drunk tourists (like us).

Enjoy! And if you see a group of drunk middle-aged guys with Indiana/Purdue/Notre Dame shirts on, say hello!
Hilton.

I'm female and have been the past four years with my son ( some of his buddies) and my husbnad. I love basketball. I do feel like I'm drowning in testosterone, but........... I just go shopping.

Ceasars is MECCA for March Madness, and I've seen them all.

You'll go everyyear!!!!!!

Go Xavier!!!
I've been to Vegas for the first 4 days of the tourney for the last 5 years. It seems like more people do this every year. The books have responded and most create a fun environment with lots of great specials and promotions. I was able to meet Tarkanian last year at the Palazzo. If you move around be prepared to stand. If you want a spot to sit, get there early. 6 or 7 at the latest. Games start at 9am.

The Hilton is great. The super book gets really crowded. They use the theater for over flow. Multiple HUGE screens. Two betting stations outside the theater. $2 beers. If want to get away from the crowd try the slot area near the old Star Trek exhibit. Nickle slots 150 inch tv and great drink service.

I also like the Venetian. Like most strip hotels, they use tickets for drinks. One ticket for $50 wagered. One ticket for $20 of horse race wagers. Tipping seems to help. Get there early.

Last year, the IP and the Hilton gave away free T shirts with $25 parlay tickets.
