New to Craps

Jphelan is correct about the book "Winning At Casino Craps" for what a decent couple of lattes or a line bet with odds cost. you can get a book that has all the basics of the game. I personally have played the strategy in the book and it is solid. Other books by people like John Patrick are for the birds. Also check out wizardofodds.com for more math on craps. Stay away from field, yo, and hard ways bets and you will be money ahead.

Also shop for tables with low minimums and higher odds. For example spending $20 playing a $10 craps table with $10 odds and lets say your point is 4. You would win $10 on your pass line bet and $20 on your odds bet for a total of $30. On the other hand if you took that $20 and played a $5 table and took $15 in odds you would win $5 on the pass line and $30 on your odds bet for a total of $35. Just google "current craps conditions las vegas" and you can find several sites with table min's and how many X's odds.
I am a low roller and just play the don't pass line. When a 4 or 10 is the point I lay the odds and sometimes I lay the odds on a 5 and 9.

I usually do not lay odds on the 6 or 8. That is just me, I want to play and not loose too much too quickly.

In the past I have lost a lot betting no 4 or no 10 and of course they just kept coming in. I do not do that anymore.

My theory is get past the come out roll and you are in decent shape on the dark side.

I agree the dice have no memory which is also lacked on the roulette wheel so the people looking at the previous reds and blacks rolled amuse me, although there could be a biased wheel for 1 number which is unlikely in todays games.

I figure the casino would not give you the previous results on any game if it helped you in any way.
