Newbee Craps Advise - How to use Matchplay?

I've figured out the plays for Pass and Odds, and that's as far as I want to go as a newbee. I'm looking forward to playing next month at the Gold Coast. If I make a $100 buy-in, say, when and how should I present a matchplay coupon in craps? Thanks.
They can only be used for even-money bets, so I always wait for a come-out roll and bet them on the pass line. They can also be used on the don't-pass, if you prefer to bet that way. They can also be used on a come or don't-come bet, but it's easier to use them on the pass line. Good luck!
I agree with jestes. Since it is only good on even money bets, the pass line is the way to go. Good luck!
I kind of agree with the last few reply's except I personally would walk up to table and try to get a feel of weather the table is hot or cold and then put it either on the Pass or don't pass.
If I 'had" to walk up to a table and put the bet down....it would be on the don't side.
Good luck either way

The reason I use them on the pass line is because, on the come-out roll, there are 8 ways to win (6 ways to make a seven and 2 ways to make an eleven) and only four ways to lose (1 way each to make a two or twelve and 2 ways to make a three). Of course, if a point number is established, then the odds swing over in favor of the don't pass. Depending on the size of the bet, I sometimes hedge the pass line bet with a bet on the "any craps."
There are 21 possible combinations of numbers that can come out on any given roll, you are correct in pointing out that 8 of them win on the passline (7&11), but 4 lose(2,3,12) and if any of the remaining 9 rolls comes out, the dark side would then be in control until the hand is finished.
Google "the best bet on a craps table" and you should find that one of the best bets in the whole casino is on the don't pass. The vig on the pass line is 1.41% and its 1.36% on the don't pass. Craps Vig from the word “vigorish,” is defined as the percentage edge the house takes for every dollar gambled.
The difference in the vig on the passline and don't pass is so small I would not take issue with anyone going with there gut instinct and putting a match play on either side, but if I walked up to a table and watched 5 guys make a point and then seven out.....I would bet on the don't. If I walked up to a table and everyone was high fiving and the mood was positive, I would probably bet on the pass line.
Another plus for the don't side is if a 6 or 8 comes out (which are bad don't side numbers) you can take your bet down. If a 4 or a 10 comes out and your betting on the passline (which is a bad passline bet) your stuck and have to keep your bets up.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
