No more traveler checks, what to do?

YO: I divided my total 6k limit (that is what I budget per trip) between three casinos (2k each) and had no problems. However, if you only use one casino, I would imagine you would really have to have a steller checking account for one casino to allow a 6k check cashing privilege.
I do cash atleast a small check per casino (even if I am winning) in order to keep my name on their radar

That's exactly what we do too.
I use a US Bank account as my Vegas account. Lots of branches there for deposits. Use their ATM's if necessary (havn't needed to last few trips).
Carrying cash doesn't bother me.
Try another smaller or local bank, a credit union will likely have them

Chilcoot is correct and that's what we used to do. Most casinos you stay at will usually cash checks up to $1,000 as a courtesy. But for more you want a line of credit with check cashing priviliges. The application is a bit more involved then a simple line of credit and yes, you apply for a certain limit. We also had to recertify each year but that was easy. Be advised that casinos do use a central credit checking service along with their own and may balk at granting a line of credit or check cashing if they feel you have too many accounts! That courtesy of one of the managers of the casino credit department at one of the major casinos.

Bob Dancer has an excellent column on here about markers and casino credit and answers quite a few questions. He does not directly address check cashing privilages but not that different.

Or just open an account in a Las Vegas bank. I use Well's Fargo. I like having a bank in the area. It come in handy when I get large wins. Much easier on my mind to run to a bank, then to carry around large sums of money.
Before my trip to Las Vegas this past week, I had to go to a couple TCF Bank branches before I found one that had travelers checks. Wouldn't have minded paying a fee but they didn't charge me. I think they're not only safer but easier to keep track of what you spend that way. I always knew what I'd spent and how much I had left.
