Olreans and the Gold Coast

Can anyone let us know if there is any reason to
prefer gambling over one propery over the other?

If you were to gamble each place for the entire evening....

Is there anyting that makes one property better than the other?

The Orleans has a much bigger casino, more places to eat with nicer restaurants, also a large showroom and arena.

The entire property is larger, nicer, and has much to offer ...... basically a notch above the Gold Coast.

Exactly what Rick said with 1 minor caveat. If you like to be within walking distance of other casinos then Gold Coast is next to the Rio and across the street from the Palms and 1/2 mile from the Ceasars/strip!
I too prefer Orleans because it's bigger and has a few more options.

If you like VP at the Bar Tops Orleans has 8/5BP Gold Coast has gone to a Progressive .25 at the bars and JOB is 9/5 BJ is about the same....I am at the GC a lot but it can be a bit stuffier as it is smaller...both are great places.....a few more entertainment and food options at Orleans

But do keep in mind that there have been Free Shuttles that have involved Gold Coast, Rio as well as Palms and so check out the Shuttles section on this website in case you want to go elsewhere and not have to drive yourself.

FWIW the GC buffet is almost always superior, especially breakfast.

I've always preferred Orleans buffet to the Gold Coast's. orleans has a little more along the line of unique choices and character with its Cajun leanings and GC is more meat and potatoes.

There are several mostly subtle reasons to prefer one over the other:

* As mentioned elsewhere, the Orleans is larger and has more amenities on-site
* Also as mentioned, the Rio and Palms are within an easy walk of the GC, while the Orleans is a lengthy walk away from all three
* I like both buffets, but give the edge to the GC. It's a tiny bit cheaper too.
* The Orleans has a very good coffee shop, the GC doesn't
* I've found the Orleans has friendlier dealers, while the GC folks are more willing to leave you alone to gamble
* The Orleans doesn't have 9/6 JoB and only scattered NSUD, while GC has plenty of both - especially at 50 cents and up

I've found that Orleans has a big selection of bad food, while GC has a limited selection of good food. I admit the Orleans does have good self serve ice cream, usually.
