Paigow poker bonus

I'm an avid Paigow player. I was wondering. Has anyone ever heard of any the top bonus hands being dealt? Like a seven card straight flush or a royal flush w/ royal match. I was at a table in PA where 5 aces was dealt. Yes I got the envy payout.
I was at Paris a couple years ago when the top hand was dealt. I believe it was the royal flush with royal match. My wife and I were enjoying a cocktail at Gustav's bar when a group of Asians at the Pai Gow table all started hooting and hollering. I found this strange because Asians are usually very reserved when gambling.

I walked over to the table because I needed to use the men's room anyways. I chatted with a man who was standing behind the table. He told me the player who was dealt the hand won like 70,000. I believe the other players all recieved about 7,000.

Many years ago I was playing Pai Gow Poker on Trump's boat in Gary, IN. The player seated immediately to my right was dealt a royal flush with the royal match. The problem was, he did not make the side bet for the bonus on that particular hand. He was alternating between making the sidebet and not making the sidebet. DUMB! The jackpot was at about 60,000. Always make the bet or never make the bet. Dont alternate.

The best advice that 1 could give on that bet!!! Hopefully there were some folks at that table who got the envy.

I alternate, if I am winning I bet, if I am losing I do not........I have had 2 royal flushes when not betting. Oh well.

Envy was not part of the sidebet on Trump. Only the player is paid.

If you are playing ANY progressive game and dont cover the $1 side bet, you shoudnt be playing. I lknow the gaming guys will tell you its a bad bet, but if you get the hand, like the story above. You might as well put the gun in your mouth. I played at Ameristrar in east chicago, indiana many years ago. I think it might have been Harrahs at the time. They had a progressive Pai Gow game that got up to over $900,000.00. It required a royal and a pair of aces. I saw some oriental gent playing $200 a hand. He wouldnt play the extra dollar. The dealer kept looking at hime and pointing to the progressive total. The guy just said "bad bet not interested." Wish he would have got the hand while I was watching.
I don't think that many of these side bet progressives are 1 dollar anymore. Many of them are 5. When they are 5, they will eat away at your bankroll very quickly. As far as the guy who was betting 200 per hand and not putting out the extra buck, I have to agree thats pretty crazy.

Could not disagree more.

Most of these side bets are the table equivalent of bad slot machine wagers. Sure, people with big jackpots from these wagers all the time. They do it by losing lots of money first.

I've seen fellow table game players land big jackpots on these side wagers. Why should that bother me, when I've seen far more lost on those same wagers? "Put a gun in your mouth"? Wow.

Haven't seen anyone write "oriental gent" in a while. For good reason.
