During my Las Vegas trips I've always visited The Palms because they have great video poker for quarter players. Well, not anymore it looks like.
I was just there a few days ago and it seems they've removed all the 25 cent 10/7 double bonus games, the "NSU" deuces wild games as well as most of 9/6 Jacks or Better machines. The only 9/6 JoB game I could find were the 1 cent 50 play machines (the ones near the entrance to the food court), plus there's a few but not many 8/5 bonus poker games left. You really have to wander the casino to find them. The VP at The Palms was about the only reason I went there. So if that's the way it's going to be over there from now on I may not go there as often...or possibly ever again on future visits.
On a similar note the blackjack tables no longer offer surrender.
I recently heard that The Palms is having some sort of financial difficulties? Maybe this is one reason for the downgrade in VP games. Or perhaps George Maloof is getting a little bit more greedy?
