The Palms sucks for video poker now

During my Las Vegas trips I've always visited The Palms because they have great video poker for quarter players. Well, not anymore it looks like.

I was just there a few days ago and it seems they've removed all the 25 cent 10/7 double bonus games, the "NSU" deuces wild games as well as most of 9/6 Jacks or Better machines. The only 9/6 JoB game I could find were the 1 cent 50 play machines (the ones near the entrance to the food court), plus there's a few but not many 8/5 bonus poker games left. You really have to wander the casino to find them. The VP at The Palms was about the only reason I went there. So if that's the way it's going to be over there from now on I may not go there as often...or possibly ever again on future visits.

On a similar note the blackjack tables no longer offer surrender.

I recently heard that The Palms is having some sort of financial difficulties? Maybe this is one reason for the downgrade in VP games. Or perhaps George Maloof is getting a little bit more greedy?

He's out as owner...think he owns 2% (or maybe 4%, don't remember). The creditors are running the show.

Bad VP and they really slowed down drink service as well......Took them off the radar after last December's visit
Cocktail service has ALWAYS, in my opinion, sucked there.....usually a 30 minute or more wait to see a waitress at the machines.

But, SLOTPLAYCOUPONS.com has a good coupon for free slot play there. $40 of play for $25. Or, $50 for $25 for new members. I just used mine a couple of weeks ago.....very easy to use at the players booth. These can be bought/used once per 30 days.

One of my favorite VP memories was made at the Palms. October 2004, sitting at the bar near the food court, playing quarter 10/7 DB, watching the Red Sox' amazing ALCS humiliation of the Yankees, banging out quad after quad, and learning the nuances of comped Patron Silver for the first time, knowing that VP fun really doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks Palms, I figured it wouldn't last, and it hasn't.
We were in Vegas Oct 24-Nov 3rd and went to the Palms. I did find the one lone machine 10/7 DB quarters at the end of the Island Bar and one at the Sportsbook bar but they were both occupied. I know there is a quarter NSUD (one machine) somewhere but I didn' t seek it out. I really miss the 25cent FPDW progressive at the Palms and can't believe they took it out. I mean really, it was only a quarter game and the progressive was player subsidized.

Not sure what was going to be placed there but there were several very large portions of floor that were empty near the valet entrance and also the garage entrance. Any idea what they are going to put there?

vpFREE2 lists four machines with 25c/50c NSUD near the slot club. They were still there today but excluded from all promotions like all the other machines with NSUD.
For the people commenting on drink service. The only time I've ever gotten good drink service at the Palms was when I was on the VP machines near the slot club.

Otherwise, it's been once every 30-45 mins if I'm lucky.

No reason for me to go back.
