Last Tuesday, I made the trip to the Downstream, It was 3X points. I had a bounceback for $225 freeplay and another $150 weekly freeplay. I put it into Neptunes for a $300 win. I bought in at the Pai Gow table for $2,000. Making a long story short, at around 8pm, I was $3,000 down. Playing two hands with my base bet being $100 in the center, $20 on insurance, and $10 on bonus. I bet progressively, increasing my center bet by $50 with each win. I also increase my insurance by $10 to hedge the center bet. I had worked up to table max $300 with $60 on insurance. I was dealt a 9 high, which paid 100 to 1, for $60 dollar insurance bet I won $6,000. I quit immediately.
A couple of side notes. The Canola fields are in full bloom, They are the most brilliant blooming field crops you will ever witness. Driving past these fields, the magnificent expanse of a blanket of yellow rollling hills is breath taking.
I witnessed, what I thought, is little odd behavior. There is a friend who is a fellow Platinum card holder. I would describe her as a refined lady. She and her husband are intelligent, articulate people. She comes up to me and says, "That Motherfucker", motioning to a fellow playing a slot machine. "He's won $650 on that machine and that is my machine". Her choice of words caught me off guard.
One of the differences between Oklahoma casinos and Vegas casinos, well the patrons anyway, is this. I've never passed someone leaving a Vegas casino and they talk to me. Oklahoma casinos, people are always talking to me as I pass em as they are leaving. They are eager to inform people going in that, "Them machines are tight", "Those SOB's are not paying". etc. It's like we're part of this huge fraternity and they're giving us inside information.
Wednesday night I was in Tulsa, had some time to kill, so I dropped in to the Hard Rock casino. I was up $35 on a Red Ruby slot, thinking I should quit, but no, I keep on playing and lose $50. I moveon looking for a Neptune. All the Neptunes are full,soI play a very similiar machine that has a Western theme. The machine is not acting right. I mean it is very slow and it's very disconcerning. I quit it after losing $200. Before I know it, I'm $700 down and feeling like crap. I find a couple of Neptunes and feed two hundred into each one. they both hit and I win back the $700 and a $19 profit.
I'm headed back to the Downstream tommorrow.
