POKER

I love Poker.  I am coming to Vegas 4/5 - 4/12.   Tournaments are my favorite, but also like to play Limit. Things change so quickly in Vegas now days.   I am hoping that someone might be able to tell me the best places to play Poker in Vegas right now.  I am not a high roller so reasonable limits and buy ins for Trouneys would be welcome to hear about.  Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with me.

Orleans! They're one of the few remaining outposts of limit games in town. Huge room, low rake, you earn food comps.

They also have many low buyin tourneys all week.

Check out the South Point website - https://southpointcasino.com/casino/poker-room

Wonderful!  Thanks so much for sharing this useful information with me, Kevin.  I have played at Orleans before and always had good experiences there with both Cash and Tournaments.  Glad to hear they are still a good option.  Have a nice evening!

Hi David.  I will gladly check out South Point too.  I want to play at as many different places as I can because I have had players tell me that I don't have a good poker face.  One guy in a weekly, friendly poker game, with friends, always used to tell me that he could read me like book.  Oh well, I have since worked on my "tells" and with playing at different places, maybe I can take home a little extra cash this trip.  Thanks again, David.

     You are welcome. Good luck.

If you're close to the strip, I believe the only limit poker available is at Horseshoe. I also strongly recommend using apps like a) Poker Atlas to find tournaments and b) Bravo to find out the current status of cash games (including how many tables are open and how many people are waiting at any particular room.

Side note: I used to love playing limit at Flamingo. Mostly friendly tourists having a good time. Since that game has migrated to Horseshoe, seems to be mostly locals who all know each other. I don't suspect collusion/cheating; it just feels like I'm barging into a private game.

As far as Orleans.....good luck. My experience is that it's full of local grinders colluding and/or just sitting around folding trying to get high hands and bitching about....everything....

Hi Matt.  Thanks so much for the info.  I will try the Horseshoe.  Especially since I have not had a chance to play there since the new location.   "Back in the day"  downtown, I played at the Horseshoe every visit to Vegas.  I ALWAYS had a blast and left with money (although sometimes not much) in my pocket.  I miss those good ole days!  The Poker Atlas and Bravo sound like great tools.  I will definitely try those too.

Orleans.  I have had others tell me the same as you, in the past.  I will give it a try, just to see if I can make it work for me.  Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks again.  Have a great day.

Horshshoe is very good if on the strip.  If off the strip, I'd recommend SP over Orleans.  Agree with Matt on Orleans.  I go 5x a year and this is what I find too.

Downtown has Golden Nugget.  Great promos and weak players if you ask me.  But it is downtown and I find the room too dark and dungy.

Hi Jerry.  Thanks for your tips from your experiences.  Helps a lot.  Glad to hear another positive for Horseshoe.  I will definitely play there.  And thanks for the tip on Orleans.  I might put that one at the bottom of my list now and play the others first.  Thank goodness we decided to make a "road trip" out of this trip to Vegas.  So, eventhough we are staying downtown, we have a car to go any where we like, any time.

Hey, glad you give the Golden Nugget a positive.  Actually, we are staying there this time.  Our first at the Nugget.  WE got some good room offers so decided to give it a try.  Besides, we really like downtown.  It is a lot more fun than it used to be. No waiting for redlights or crosswalks to get from one hotel to the next.  And I find that the hotels and gambling downtown are more friendly, and I feel I get a better bang for my buck on all accounts.

Thanks again Jerry.  Have a good afternoon.
