Since today, April 8, 2013, Powerball is finally coming to California, this past Thursday, April 4th, the local Los Angeles ABC Affiliate, KABC TV, had their consumer reporter, Rick Romero get a Mathematician to draw up the odds against hitting the Powerball which are just about the same (1 in 175,223,510) as the Mega Millions (which is 1 in 175,711,536) but Mega Millions only requires $1 to play Vs. the $2 for Powerball. But also, you are more likely to hit anything with Mega Millions (39.89%) than with Powerball (31.85%).

So check out the report (if the link works): https://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/consumer&id=9053665 !

Oh and before I forget, this also means that anyone who can go down to Primm who can't otherwise get to play Powerball will now be able to do that as well (on the California side at the CA Lottery retailer that is right by the CA-NV border).
