Progressive VP

I'm heading to Vegas next week and looking to play some good progressive video poker. Does anyone know which casinos have the best progressive VP?

Vpfree usually doesn't list progressives because of the inferior paytables but they forget that the meter rise adds to the return of the game as well. ie. 86 JOB with a 1% meter rise isn't a 98.4% game it's a 99.4% game at reset. Plus when you start playing it probably will have some additional money in the jackpot already making it even better.

Can you explain further? IMHO, regardless of how fast the meter is, at reset (i.e. the RF = 4000 coins), its a 98.4% return.

If you sit down at a progressive at reset and play until you hit the royal then the royal will be much higher than when you started. It's kinda like casino slot clubs in that 1% of your total bet is returned to you. I'm oversimplifying here a little because I assume you'll play till you hit the royal and nobody else is playing but it doesn't really matter whether 1% of you coin in is returned at the end of the day or on your next jackpot.

4 Queens downtown has a bank of .25 10/7 Double Bonus with a progressive Royal. If it has been won recently, You wont see many people playing. If it hasn't been hit in a while it will be playec heavily. Part of its popularity is that it is full pay. Hope this helps.

Sam's Town has progressive .25 9/6 Jacks. The last time I was there in April the meter was over $1500.00 and you couldn't get a seat. I came back an hour later and it had been hit and there was no one there.

Look at the bars at 4Q's. Suited Royal progressives on JOB, and for the quads on Double Bonus. You have to do the math (or let the computer do the math) to see if they are better than the 10/7 DB progressive by Magnolia's. Sometimes they are. I've got a cheat sheet I prepared that I use to evaluate them.

There are some progressives upstairs at the D that are worth looking at. Also the Fremont has a live Keno game with a progressive that sometimes goes positive.

There is a progressive at the MSS Boar Bar on 9/7 DB I believe. I've never seen it very high. It could be a weak meter, or maybe I just haven't been there at the right time.

Every once in a while I've seen the progressive on the old DDB quarter coin droppers downstairs at the ElCo get really high. I don't recall the paytable offhand, although I'm sure it is bad. I was playing it once when it was over $2,500. A lady sitting next to me who was from Canada hit it.

I'm curious. At what pont is a Quarter progressive a positive play when its' either 7/5 BP or 9/6/4 DB poker??

Main Street Station and The California have 50c 8/5 BP Progressives. I hit one in 2008 for $2,841. . .

I also seem to recall a 25c DDB machine at MSS whose progressive was pretty high, just over double, but we didn't hit it, although I think Rowanb got aces on it. . .

Just came back from Vegas and it turns out that downtown is full of good progressive VP. The D, Main Street, 4 Queens, Vegas Club, and el cortez have a lot of quality machines ranging from nickels to quarters. The best machine at reset is the 4 queens 10/7 DB with very slow meter rise, I think 1/10th of one percent. The fastest rising machine is an 85DDB at the el cortez with a 2 percent meter rise. Didn't hit any royals but did hit a lot of 4 ok's on the D's $1 85BP using my LVA coupon so overall a good trip.
