Reached a conclusion on Pai Gow

I had previously submitted a QOD on the randomness of automatic shufflers with card recogniton software.  this game also uses a random number generated by the software to determine starting spot, instead of a die.  The answer was geared toward blackjack, which was not helpful.

Some players and dealers say the shuffler is a slot machine with a percentage of pay outs.  This past week I witnessed one player receive 3 straight flushes and one quad in one evening over a four hour span.  Another player received a Foyal flush.  I play hours in the poker rooms and never seen hands like that.  Understand there is a Joker in the deck, two of the hands did not have the joker.  People do fold possible hands that could terminate in a straight flush in the poker rooms.  With the enormous Badbeat Jackpots a number of players will see a flop with suited connectors or any pair.

A friend suggest we pool our money and play the VGT slot Neptune for $50 max bet and do better.  I have concluded the Pai Gow game is a slot machine.

The abbreviated account of my last Pai Gow gambling went like this.  Won $700, then Lost $3,000, Won $3,000,  Lost $3,000. net loss $2,300.  One winning streak I had 8 bonus paying hands in a row on one hand..  One losing streak, while playing two hands the dealer beat both hands 5 times in a row.

Will I quit Pai Gow, probably not.  For me it is addictive because of the expotential payouts for bonus hands and insurance hands.  I need to recognize when the Pai Gow/slot is hot or when it is cold.

Do the math.  At best it is a 97% game.
