Are they discussing it every day as the slots you are allowed to play keeps shrinking?

It's clear from this thread that you simply don't have a clue on the math here. For everyone else who is reading this discussion, here is one more point of reference to consider.

LVA Jan-11

This year’s book is worth significantly more than last year’s in total and “AI” value, and it’s equal in absolute free-play (offers where no investment at all is required). The increase is due to the high value of the two rebates—one for 50%-back up to $200 from Opera House (in the MRB) and the other for 100%-back up to $100 from Terrible’s (an MRO). A lot of variables are involved in assessing these two offers, especially when they’re not played in the optimal manner (bold style, betting as much as possible on each coup), so their ascribed contribution to the AI was purposely underestimated.

The Opera House MRB coupon from last year was only a 50% rebate (up to $200 on $400 loss) and that was still a positive play as noted in the Jan11 LVA. The point being, these rebates are so strong that even with watered down rules it's still likely a positive play.

Hold on, maybe that was a typo? Then I would refer you to the Feb12 LVA where the Palms tiered rebate is discussed.

Of course, for those who can fulfill all the requirements, this is one heck of a deal, amounting to a full-out $500 freeroll. But what if you can get only two payments, or even one? The answer is play anyway. Gambling rebates are strong, and a 60% rebate (for collecting on two segments) is still plenty powerful. Even taking a shot and getting 30% back on the first day is positive for you, especially considering the Palms’ good video poker schedules.
Oh look, Sir Issac Newton has appeared to help the less fortunate.

Grasp...you are right on the money. And thanks for taking the time to put some research into your reply. I agree that jm002546 has no understanding of casino math or how to determine EV. He or she has no clue how strong this promo is. It is frustrating, but some people simply allow pre-conceived notions to override objective reasoning and mathematics. I just hope others viewing this thread have enough sense to look at the numbers. I see several ways to take advantage of this offer, and hope it is still available in July (but I doubt it will be).

Boy you math nerds can argue...I played the promo yesterday, here are some data points.
I was told if you had a previous account you were ineligble, i even asked if I was out of state and hadnt played for 3 years, she said, no if youve ever had a card it's a no-go...then she told me they had no record of me in the computer and signed me up...whew.
The promo is now limited further...no in house progressives which eleminates a lot of video poker with a progressive 5coin RF and many of the other machines...all of the machines in the high limit room have stickers...as well as quite a few on the floor...i lost $40 in one before i realized it. There are a few $1 VP machines but never hit better than a full house. also had a card reader error suck 100 on a VP machine, be sure to double check. After $600 I resigned myself to playing regular slots that I usually lose money on but find fun...i gave up on the big hit strategy....best hit was $150 on the dollar machines, and $150 on a nickel machine....I got it up to $800 and quit (actually $940 with user errors) they gave me two vouchers one put $400 FP on my card the other was dated June 3rd and is good for a year with the other $400....so you get the voucher right then. There is no limitation on FP, I asked if any machines were ineligble for FP and was told no....I'm going to try and find video roulette and get it out, cause i'm not optimistic of the return on thier sad VP machines. It was fun to play all the new titles and get most of my money reimbursed. I would say this is just for entertainment, not much chance of big hit machines anymore.

on a side note wife and I did the $200 even the odds promo at the tropicana, which is basically the same kind of loss promo...hit quads on BP first roll and quit $200 up....wife hit str8 flush and some stuff won$300
took us less than an hour....much better choices for play there.

Math and statistics aside, this is a decent promo to have fun with. ...LOL I know some statistician is out there trying to quantify the fun value as a positive integer and plug it into an equation.
Thanks cashkicker. No more guessing now that we have a true account of how the promo does/doesn't work! I was getting a headache for a minute there until I read your post!
Cashkicker...Thanks for the report! You even made this math nerd laugh with your comment about quantifying the fun value, etc. And we all know the statistical probability of making a math nerd laugh is pretty low!

Did you check out any of the entetainment, restaurants, or bars at the Riv? I haven't been there in years, but used to enjoy Le Bistro Lounge. Two drink minimum with some great live bands. Heck, it's probably not even there anymore.

Thanks champster! I will definitely spend a night or two at Le Bistro Lounge on my visit. If the music is still good and the drinks are still strong, I won't give a damn about the free play promo!
