Riviera $1000 loss rebate

Math be damned. I'm going to the Riv and blowing a grand on penny slots - yee-haw!
Getting a beer was easier at the ABC store they have there. I'd rather get a free one, but finding a waitress on the floor is pretty tough, and since the bartop VP has a progressive top payout I think they're not eligble. Also ineligble are video blackjack, roulette, VP $2 or more.
I wound up getting $370 back on my $400 FP and an extra $21 from the points I racked up during the promo.
If the promo is still there when we return in July, I may get it again in my wife's name.
My strategy would be to try the $1 VP for the first few hundred and hope for a hit (unlikely on the few they have included now) then switch over to quarter and nickel slots and play them at full bet.
While I dont think you can hit anything big (over $200) on most of them, they are fun to play. I don't usually get to play all the new machines at full bet, and it is fun when you get the bonus to see the nickels add up.....not too many quarter machines at the riviera or I would try them first.
Anyway you could play up and down on the reel slots all day and get your money back in FP.
They also have the pinball hall of fame below the showroom, as a former pinball wizard I got a kick out of that. Didn't try the bars and just grabbed some pizza at the food court. The bars and resteraunts were crowded with pool players because some kind of tourney was going on there the days we visited.

I haven't been there in years, but used to enjoy Le Bistro Lounge. Two drink minimum with some great live bands. Heck, it's probably not even there anymore.

Actually it's still there! https://www.rivierahotel.com/las-vegas-entertainment/le-bistro-lounge/

Thanks champster! I will definitely spend a night or two at Le Bistro Lounge on my visit. If the music is still good and the drinks are still strong, I won't give a damn about the free play promo!

I may see you there if it's mid August!!!
I must admit.........its a tempting offer for slots players.

But has Anyone been there lately????

Security around casino? Feel Safe? Homeless wandering around? etc.

Because the last time I was there........seemed on its last legs, and that was ages ago.

I haven't been there since I stayed at the Stardust (1999).

July 2-9 here. Come out then and I will buy you a drink. And...as a bonus...promise not to discuss math Maybe I could pay it forward. Give the bartender an extra 20 and tell him/her to save it for champster. Something tells me they would agree to it, but might just forget to follow thru!

I agree that your $20.00 may dissappear before August!

..hit quads on BP first roll and quit $200 up....wife hit str8 flush and some stuff won$300
took us less than an hour....much better choices for play there.q]

Cashkicker....VPFREE says that the Riv has Fullpay DB and DDB in quarters. Did you see those anywhere? They also list 8/5 BP in $1.00's. Is that what you/the missus were playing when you hit quads on the first roll??

T- 87 days and counting
Yep we hit on the 8/5 $1 BP just outside the high limit slot room, there were 4 there. Never did look for the quarter machines...we played a few other slots and took the money and ran. Next time I will buy some $40 for $25 slotplay coupons and we will try and duplicate our last outcome without the safety net of the "even the odds" promo.
It really was a nice place, not creepy at all.....of all the places we visited this last trip, I only felt uneasy at el cortez downtown.

The location of those is listed in vpFREE2.com: https://www.vpfree2.com/casino/riviera-hotel-and-casino

I saw them there myself earlier this month.
