Rob Singer LVA Forum Claims

Dear Forum Members,

A gentleman named Rob SInger (real name:  Robert Harry Argentino)  is posting on various forums that he won 68% of his NFL  ATS (against the spread) plays, picking five games a week, for two years. He is also claiming it was all documented on the LVA forums.

Since no one has ever accomplished such a thing in public contests, or when being monitored, going back 40 years, I've embarked on a debunking of his claims. Even people using multiple entries in public contests haven't done what Singer is claiming, and he's saying he did it using one lineup each week for two years.

I'm not very tech savvy, so if anyone has the time or inclination to research these forums for Singer's posting history, please let me know what he has posted here that might lend itself to his making these really outrageous claims.

Thanks for reading this. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Bob Dietz

"Rob Singer" is a gambling fraud and huckster whose sordid "career" goes back about three decades. He took advantage of the video poker boom by writing a book, "The Undeniable Truth About Video Poker," which was in actuality chock-full of very deniable untruths. His premise/shtick was that paytables didn't matter; strategy didn't matter; all you had to do was use the Martingale system and keep doubling your bets until you won. He claimed to have won "100% of the time" using this approach.

He really blossomed (or maybe 'festered") when the interblab started having all these video poker and other gambling forums. He was present in EVERY forum, making his asinine claims and pushing his book. He was openly hostile to anyone who challenged the veracity of his claims. He got tossed from almost every board/site/forum eventually, but always came back under some other name.

His activity seems to have waned in recent years, probably because gamblers are a little bit better educated, especially re video poker. So I'm not surprised to hear that he's branched out. You know, just from common sense and simple math, that his claims to be a big winner are pure moonshine; bullshit; nonsense; lies; horsecrap; vintage Rob Singer.

He never mentioned this on the LVA forums, as far as I recall. He may have CLAIMED to have whomped the sports books after the fact, but he never posted anything like "these are my five picks for this week" so we could see if the expertise he claimed to possess was real.

Rob Singer is ten pounds of shit stuffed into an eight-pound bag: a consummate fraud and huckster who has worked his passage through life by, not to put too fine a point on it, lying through his teeth. You also have to ask yourself: if I was beating the sports books at a 68% clip, wouldn't the absolute last thing I would do be to publicize it?

And Kevin would know.  He has tons of time on his hands to scour through this forum on a daily basis, being a teacher, logging all those hours.

Keep your personal attack shit in the Sink where it belongs!

(And as I've said several times, I'm retired, jackass.)

Kevin's summary of Rob Singer's history is right on the money; his major premise is "math is bullshit, I can teach you to win consistently" and he is indeed the consummate huckster.  I'm surprised that he's still around.

I'm a way-back in the day LVA member/poster.  About all I remember of "Rob Singer" is his name being created (by him) as a 'joke' or 'dig' on Bob Dancer.  Bob-Rob, Dancer-Singer.  We all know (and knew) that Bob Dancer is pseudonem for whatever his real name is, and certainly there is nothing wrong with that.  And everyone slammed Singer when his name came up, for whatever reason.

I think that's pretty much what rankled me from the start about that clown. He was promoting a hustle; peddling bullshit; selling moonshine. And one of the principal tactics of the hustler is to try to mock or discredit the genuine article. In this instance, it was Bob Dancer. Now, I don't even like the guy, but his writing did more than anything else to show me how advantage play worked--and every one of his $10 strategy guides eventually made me thousands.

I can't help but fast forward to today, when the greatest con man in American history (hint: not Elon Musk) has made a name for himself by mocking and attacking everything and everyone that's rightful and legitimate. And of course, he had (and has) his little shticks, just like "Rob Singer" had his pseudonym and his "strategy" that told all the suckers that you don't need to think or study to beat video poker; you just need to keep stuffing bills into the machine until it inevitably pays you.

So while I despise idiots, I despise even more the fraudsters who work their passage through life by exploiting their idiocy. I knew, more than most, just how wrong Singer's crap was and how much harm his "advice" would do. And of course, since I spent several hundred hours becoming a VP expert, I was annoyed at Singer claiming that you could accomplish the same result by spending $29.95 on his book and taking five minutes to absorb his mighty wisdom.

Singer is a fraud dating back 20+ years to the Players Forum message board.  The original video poker troll.

Kevin Lewis 's description of Rob Singer  is 100 percent perfect. Totally fraudulent posts that deny the existence of math.

I would read his articles in Gaming Today freebie magazine just for a good laugh back in the day!!
