Sad day....

Checked vpfree yesterday and it looks like there are no quarter vp games worth playing.......at, of all places Westgate!  It was our main squeeze for over a decade and a nice visit many times since.  Now it looks like there isn't any reason to even drop in.

There hasn't been anything playable at the Westgate for quite a while. Last May they downgraded the $1 9/6 Jacks. Haven't been there since, except for some sports bets.

Yes, that bank of good 25c games was still there until recently. They even had 100.15% Loose Deuces. I confirmed that they are really gone with a bank of sub par paytables in their place.

Agreed another one bites the dust of 99.95% or greater LV/Henderson VP in the past year or so.

First is was the 99.95% Pick'Em at the Fremont; then 101% DDW at ElCo; then 25c x 10 coin FPDW at the Skyline; and now 100.1% 25c LDW at Westgate just a few days ago. That eliiminates four stops in one year on my usual rotation .

I had put in a good shift at the Westgate last trip. Now I won't be playing video poker there, and I had planned to make it my main playing location with Boyd messing things up. So okay, Las Vegas doesn't want me playing video poker. That's a deal, then. I'll make a couple of modest sports bets just to keep my points/card active at Westgate. The downgrade is a shame. They can't really think it's going to help their bottom line.

Wow, I'm saddend just booked there yesterday for late Sept. / early Oct. trip.4 nites free with no resort fee.  I got the offer mostly from pounding away at the various games in that bank in the smoke free sportsbook. All  the VP down grades finally hit home.

That was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Vegas.  At the time it was the largest hotel in America, don't think it is in the top 10 in Vegas now.

Stayed there for trade shows & vacations.  The buffet although small was always good & the gambling was pretty good.

Same with me. 1969. Called the International.

Just rewatched Diamonds Are Forever & it featured a slimmed down version of the hotel & convention center. The gas station across the street is still there.

Fun in watching scenes of the vacant lots on the strip, the alpine village & fremont st. Etc.
