sam's town video poker decline

there have been a number of comments/laments about the dropoff in amenities, food, comps, etc. at sam's town. if you check out vpfree2.com, that dropoff is also noticeable in the gradual decline of its video poker selections, too.
The bank of 25-cent DDB progressive machines had long been a popular area to play.

sams was my home base for 10 years or so-----because of the changes you mention I no longer go there-----to coin an old phrase 'you can not stay married to a casino'----get a divorce and go elsewhere
I always played 9/6 VP at Sams Town. The machines are now gone and so is this previously loyal Sams customer.
Sam's was one of our main squeezes for about 5 years or so. Lol we went from Hilton/Stardust to Hilton/Silverton to South Point/Silverton to South Point/Sam's Town.....to our present South Point/Aliante. And now Boyd buys Aliante, so we may be looking for a new partner soon. Each of these properties had good vp options but either down graded, tightened up their comps or were bought/sold or demolished.

So many casinos, so little bankroll.

Boyd Gaming is tightening up across all their properties and across all their amenities, including VP pay schedules, comp offers, multipliers on the "Young at Heart" Wednesdays, etc.

They even went so far as to announce that they "could" bar players with a brain from participating in the Young at Heart promotion with the new Rule 24 in the YAH official rules:

Boyd reserves the right to determined that anyone who is deemed in the sole and absolute discretion of the Boyd management to be an “advantage player,” to be ineligible to participate in the Promotion or Drawing, or to have his/her ability to participate in the Promotion or Drawing otherwise limited. Any such “advantage player” who is already a B Connected member prior to the commencement of the Promotion or Drawing may be notified by Boyd prior to the commencement of the Promotion or Drawing of any such ineligibility or limitation determination. Otherwise, any such “advantage player” will be notified by Boyd of any ineligibility or limitation determination as soon as possible after such determination is made. An “advantage player” is described as a skilled or knowledgeable player who will find legal ways to gain mathematical advantages while gambling.

Sad.
yes don, very sad-----a new definition of an advantage player------for years the definition was one who played positive [over 100% return] vp games-------it would appear that they are targeting locals since the yah program at a number of their casinos targets locals-----if so they will drive them away to the station casinos------have noticed that over the years the boyd group targets the visitor market and the station group targets locals---
