Scouting for plays??

Hello, first off, thank you everyone for all of your help through the years. I
have been lucky enough to find several playable games at my local casino
(Ameristar KC) but they are quickly being removed. Ameristar is a very large
casino, with a bunch of machines. My question to you is, what is the best way
to scout a casino for plays? Do you check a single machine's schedule in a row,
or every other one? Is there a systematic way to do a scouting trip that you
guys have found to be easier?

I feel good about the Job, BP, DB, and DDB paytables, but struggle with dueces,
bonus dueces and other game paytables for payback percentage. I have put the old vpfree paytables page
as a bookmark on my phone to help. Just looking for some help and ideas on how
to make this a little easier.

I'm afraid that I am going to check 500 machines, find 0 playable double bonus or double double, and miss a high percentage play on some bonus semi-carney game.
Wish there was an easy way. Short knowing where a good play is or having a friend tell you about a specific machine or machines the only reliable way is to check each one. This is especially true on mutli-game machines. My wife and I have sat down at adjoining machines elsewhere only to discover say one machine is 9/6 JOB and the other 9/5 or worse. This is on identical denominations. And that is the other issue. Not only to you have to check each machine and each game but each denomination. Add in it is not unusual to go back to a machine you may have played say last time only to find out the good game is now gone.

One thing is you might want to keep a few notes. For example while you might prefer DB or DDB you want to check out the JOB or Deuces pay as well. You may find no playable games in your preferred game but a few good plays in your second choices.

Places like VPFree on Yahoo offers some help as they do post some of the better games and locations but depending on location the list may be out of date and sometimes to directions of where the machines are leaves much to be desired especially when there is a large number of machines.
