Slot Machine Hand Payout Tipping

I don't think it's the same at all. But to answer your question, usually I don't tip the cashier unless I have a couple of extra dollars on the payout or if the person provided excellent friendly service.

Why do people tip the attendants who pay out hand jackpots on slot machines? These people do absolutely nothing except pay you the money.

I suppose that could be said about anyone who holds down a job..."She does absolutely nothing except [insert job function here]."

Tipping is customary. If you feel so negatively about actually helping someone else earn a living, then don't tip. You don't have to.

And, yes, I tip at the cage, a dollar usually, occasionally 2 if I have it handy and the spirit hits me. They almost always thank me as if it were a c-note.

Casino people make me feel welcome and valued. Like Friedmush, it makes me feel good to do the same for them.

To tip or not to tip and how much is a personal matter. If you don't believe in tipping, don't do it. Simple. Easy peasy.

Some people like myself enjoy spreading the wealth and understand tipping brings good karma, what goes around, comes around. Karma can show in many ways not necessarily in casino wins. If you disagree with what I just wrote, that's okay too. If I feel like tipping the attendant because I hit a progressive royal, I'm going to do so whether whether or not the non tippers approve. Why, because sharing the wealth makes me feel good.

If I've built my TITO to a large amount where I feel more comfortable cashing out at the cage, I'll give the cashier a small tip. Why, I enjoy doing nice things for people and feel good when I see the sincere smile and gratitude on their face.
When people gain money that is unexpected or considered a bonus they like to share it with those around them because it makes them feel good. Interestingly, when the money is considered earned or due they don't get this good feeling and don't tip. This is why people tip after jackpots but don't tip after cashing their paycheck or redeeming slot points. One form of the money is a bonus while the other is hard-earned. Logically it doesn't make sense but it's how humans are and I feel the urge to give gifts to friends or donate to charity after hitting a big jackpot.
Tip money is part of my vacation budget. I tip even when I don't have unexpected bonuses or gains. I also donate to local non profits. I work hard for what I have and choose to share some with others.
You're a more generous person than I am. I really should give more regardless of whether I win or lose.
As a side note, I always tip the dealers when I play since I know they definitely work on tips
