okay Ihave a question, say we wanted to place a baseball bet or hockey, how does someone know if the odds are okay?
I was wanting to place a few but lost by point spread and so on, can someone tell me this in the best way?

What do you mean by "okay" odds?

There is no "best way". There are different ways for baseball for instance (money line, run line, total), and each has its advantages. Here's a very good advice page to help you understand.

I want to add in that lines can differ from Sportsbook to Sportsbook (as long as they are not of the same company that runs them) and so there are people who shop lines around (that's to check from casino to casino to see if they can get a better payback).
