Thinking of LV, but ended up a VP Slut again

There I go again, playing slutty VP.

It happens every 6 weeks or so again.

As much as I try to stay away from bad VP tables, I fall short.

This time, I lasted six weeks (normal is 4 weeks), till I slutted out again at the HR in Tampa.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't wait till I get to Vegas, and play bartop VP that beats anything Tampa has, plus knowing the VP is not rigged.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm going to be such a huge VP slut in Vegas, I can't wait.....

Machines there seem rigged to me too.
Well, why not think of it as poison because it is certainly poison to your wallet!!

Also, it really sounds to me like you are playing to play (that is playing for the sake of playing) instead of playing to win (and there definitely is a difference between the two)! And why make it harder on you to win by playing games with bad pay schedules? Remember that (well at least for Jacks Or Better based games) each number below 9 for the one-coin insertion for the Full House and 6 for the one-coin insertion for the Flush is 1.15% less return for the Full House and 1.1% less return for the Flush!

And if you think it is rigged anyway, why on G-d's earth are you even dealing with it?!

Remember, nobody is putting a gun to your head forcing you to play such garbage! Just say NO to it and mean it!

Yes, if we are talking about the Hard Rock in Tampa Florida, yes, all you say is soooo ture.

If you think I am talking about Biloxi and Vegas, I am not talking about those...

Good, now we understand this response is about Tampa Hard Rock...

So why do I continue to play?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simple...

I like to play and gamble.

HR has crap and we used to fly to Biloxi, for State Regulated play.

Then recession and no more Hotel and Air to Biloxi.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So for about two years, it is HR, take it or leave it, and so I did the middle.

Knowing the State of Florida has zero control and the Indian casino can and will do as they please..

I play about once evey 6 weeks, for my fix, if you can call it that.

I bring limited money.. and I have my fun with it, knowing what is behind the OZ curtain.

If the HR was ligit, I would be playing 50c to $1 VP poker, but knowing it is rigged, why would anyone in their right mind do anything more?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But now the good news..

Biloxi BV has once again re-started their Air+Hotel Promo. I guess they finally got something worked out with the airlines again..

So after a two year wait, they are back to what they were doing before, and this is the reason why we have not been back to Vegas since 2002. We always went to Biloxi.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now take the SWA Visa Card with 50,000 miles on first purchase (Did not learn about that here, learn about that one one the Las Vegas 4 ever Board), we have free Air to LV.

The SWA deal is now down to 25,000 miles, but still a good deal IMOP.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Excited to be going to Vegas again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since it has been since 2002, we are going to have to pay full pop on the Hotel...

However, I think I have a great deal on the Flamingo GO Room with a Strip view for $73.50, that beats anything on their web site, and yes, I am willing to share how you get that rate..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But if you are current LV travelers, I have nothing to offer in price, I understand that.

Sooooo.

HR Tampa, we have to take it, and I take it once evey 6 weeks, playing quarters, when if it was legit, I would be playing 50c and dollars.....

We in Florida have to suck it up, and know the House has a Monopoly ( only game town folks). Till we save our money to go where it is not rigged...

Is there anyone out there that has the same situation in their State of residence?

Yes, I definitely meant more Hard Rock Tampa than anywhere else! That place seems pretty bad and if I lived around there, I would not want to play badly enough since I would be giving myself a much better chance at losing money. I really don't want to have to face a real uphill battle to possibly win when facing not only bad pay schedules but also possibly having to face the idea that I might be playing on machines that may very well be rigged!

Wherever there is decent enough returning VP (especially with a good Slot Club return on top of that -- or maybe other perks that taken into account make up a bunch for the rotten returns), it's obviously not that bad and I would be more likely to give that a shot!

Now in California, there for the most part is not a lot of good VP stuff either except for maybe (at least for the most part) some scattered 9/6 Jacks here and there (in the Southern California Desert -- out Palm Springs way).

And so at least for me, unless work happens to take me out to the Desert which is about 100 miles from me, then I'd rather save my $ for LV (which is about 280 miles away from me).

Although I definitely do like to play as well (although I do want to cut down my risk a lot), these self-imposed restrictions definitely keep me away from playing anything that returns any less than 99.1%. Otherwise, my attitude is that the game does not exist because I don't want to play that badly where I am taking a more decent shot at losing $.

But if I had to deal with stuff that I definitely felt was likely to be rigged, I'd just stop playing and wait until I could get to LV.

Well I wish you a safe, fun and profitable trip to LV!

Yes, I agree with everything you say. Yet, as to why I still do it....

I walk in to the Tampa HR, knowing this is just entertainment value only, and entertainment costs, just like going to a club or dinner.

It is just entertainment, and I go about once every 6 weeks with a limited bankroll. I lose on average about $50-$60 a pop, and once every 4 or 5 trips, come out ahead.

My other choices are:

LV, that I can only afford to do once a year.

Biloxi, that has recently restarted their Air/hotel package that has been dormant for the last two plus years.

The Victory Casino cruise out of Port Canaveral that also has no restrictions to what they can do to the VP and Slots (just like the Tampa HR).

So I am really, really, really going to enjoy sitting down at a VP bar in LV, the best place in the whole world, knowing this is the real deal!

Since Biloxi has opened up again, Vegas will likely go on the back burner again after this trip (Boooooo).

It is super sweet for people in the Tampa area. Cheap, and the flight only takes about one hour, and you are there. And best of all, it is regulated like LV.

I'm a VP slut in Biloxi too, just love it.

BTW, a non stop flight from here to Vegas is 4.5 hours, and it OK going out, but awful coming back. It's a haul.....

But Biloxi has nothing compared to LV, for LV has it all!!!!!!

Well, very good! I definitely understand the whole entertainment angle of it for people but at least for me, since there fortunately has been some decent enough returning stuff to play, maybe I've been spoiled by that and so it's very hard for me to just accept the idea of it being like going to a concert where basically the money is spent just to have the experience of playing and having a not high shot at ending up with some possibly decent $.

So very true.....

100% This is me.. haha, yet true...

Yet, it is only entertainment value. And nothing more when you walk into any HR in Florida..

Never said it was like Vegas..
I'm in the same position as you, live over in St. Pete. We get to Vegas twice a year and I get my VP and BJ fill there, but I do occasionally get over to Hard Rock in Tampa. Used to get more mailers (free buffets, some FP), but then again, haven't been going much lately.

Not a lot of great games, and no CB from the Players Club. I usually play Illinois Deuces for 50 cents, it's just a hair under 99%. 9/6 JoB starts at $2, and that's too rich for me, especially without any other perks to speak of, although I've put some FP on those machines a few times (nice to put in $10 FP, hit a FH, and walk with $90).

I don't know that the machines are rigged. It's possible, since as you say, there is no state regulation. With tight pay tables, CSMs on the BJ tables and tight comps, why would they bother? I suspect it might be harder to rig a Game King machine than some off-brand (like we sometimes see in the Caribbean), still possible, though. Bottom line is you can never really know if a machine is rigged unless you keep really good records and play maybe 5 RF cycles on the same machine (like 200,000 hands). Even harder with a slot machine, with higher variance.

Thanks, I needed that, someone else that knows.

Now for more fun, for here and another forum topic I will start...

Rigging at the HR, I already know the answer to that one (including Game Kings), can it be done, yes, already proven in Vegas (BUT NOT THE GAME KINGS IN LV, just anywhere in a state non regulated), and that is the start of my next topic.

I'll give the answer here, since many people will not see the answer buried here.

The answer is...

The American Coin Company in LV. Proven Rigging of VP machines.

As for the Tampa HR, the best answer I can give you is this (and yes Game Kings, plus other vendor brands).

Every time I go to the Tampa HR, I watch, while I walk from here to there (but I look at VP and to see if there is a RF as I walk by).

And since I'm a VP Bar Slut, I talk to people at the bar. When Someone sitting next to me appears like it is OK for me to engange in conversation, I do. And I always end up asking this one question to anyone that enjoys converstation.

While at the Tampa HR, have you ever had, or seen an RF here?

The answer comes back one of two ways...

1) Yes, I have seen it, or Yes I had one...... but that must have been 5+ years ago or more. -OR-

2) No, Never had one, or have I never seen one here.

These are a mix of Game Kings and some other off brand (maybe someone that goes there can help me out here).

This is why I love to go to LV, Biloxi, Tunica, I have no idea about the rest.

My favoriate is LV, for this is where State regualtions began.

I trust in LV...
I trust in Biloxi...
I trust in Tunica...

I do not trust at all in any HR in Florida, Period!
I do not trust at all in any Casino Ship out of Florida, Period!

Best regulated VP tables in all of America....... LV..
