Tipping on hand Pays and Taxables.

To begin with I understand and respect the concept of tipping when going out for a meal , valet parking and associated activities and go the program with a smile . I am no stranger to getting taxables while gaming. When it comes to gaming wins I am a little tight on leaving a tip but have always given something. i believe I am going to become a gambler that just smiles and says Thank You very much. It is a bit foreign to me but I have been reflecting on the mixed reactions I get for leaving a $20.00 bill or a few fives. Some are grateful and others express disdain that is easy to read. I am the guy that walks out wounded on a loosing night and leave a gentleman with a smile on my face and no money. When I win the money is mine and I dont owe. It is not hard work to give a hand pay. The people that work get benefits which iI do not with my line of work and I am going to toughen up a bit. I might have exceptions from time to time at my discretion but This is where I am at.
I welcome some different views on this subject.
You have to be comfortable with your actions. I play $1 JoB video poker. A couple of times a year I hit a $4,000 hand pay. If I have a $10 bill on me I'll tip the person that brings me the money, if I don't have a $10 bill on me I won't tip anything, just thank them very much.
I think tipping in this country has gotten way out of hand. Tipping in every other nation is a fraction of what it is here. I can see tipping someone who's salary is set low (like waiters/bartenders) because the tips are expected to make up their salary to reach minimum wage. But someone that is making a proper salary, with benefits that I also don't get just in no way deserves a tip. Sorry, it's just how I feel.

I've only hit a jackpot big enough for a hand pay once and didn't tip anything. Why would you tip a person who just handed you a W2? They can't provide better service.
I will never understand that I am expected to tip someone just because they have accepted to work for a low wage. That was their choice. I don't owe them a dime for making a drink or for serving my food. I only will tip for great service - not because someone expects or tells me that I should. Tipping, for the most part, is a joke.A joke on everyone who feels obligated to tip. Employers love it because they can get away with not paying a fair wage, thereby increasing their bottom line.

I tip because I want to not because I have to. I'm a firm believer that tips brings good karma; what goes around comes around. Karma shows up in many ways.
I feel the same way, they never tip me when I lose, but Ido tip only if they break up the last hundred. If they just hand me hundreds than I won't tip.

For me I might tip only if a jackpot pay (at least the last $100 of it was broken down much further).

If for example I hit a $1k Royal Flush, I know not to tip (if anything at all) any more than 1%. And so if they paid me the last $100 in $20s, then I would not tip them since I would be giving them no more than $10 (1% of $1k).

I am not that technical. I look at a persons face and their demeanor and also for kindness. I too enjoy having the last hundred dollar bill broken down to 20s, 10s 5s and singles. When I get all bills or only $20s or 2 $50s>>>>>>>I label that as "The Las Vegas Setup " for a tip. It seems that the Senior Citizens that work the floor are ones that break down the last bill for a toke with an assortment of possibilities. Even though I started this thread I do reserve Free Will for generosity if the mood hits me. Treat me with respect and kindness and I am a big softie. Living here in Vegas when it comes to tipping so many people feel entitled it gets to be a drag compared to more traditional environments. Where education gets it in much of the country the saying here goes....Tits are Talent !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a rack can bring in more than a college education!!!!!!!! and even the parents are aware of this..............Well I digressed from the post ...............Any way a good weekend to all.

A $1,000 jackpot does not generate a W2G. The machine can add the payout to your credit balance. The only reason for hand paying is to generate a tip. If there is no W2G, I do not tip. If there is a W2G, then .5%...and sometimes up to 1%, if its a place I frequently play and I get to know the slot personnel.
It all depends on speed of service and friendliness. If they are quick to arrive and come back in a reasonable amount of time and chat...they will get a tip (only the one who does all the running). $20 on a $ RF is what I do. If they give me all 100's and start to walk away after counting it out...they will get a tip as I appreciate their attitude (which is why I always put a $20 in my pocket while waiting).
Exception...had a win at the Gold Coast with my wife's card in and they came back with the W-2 in her name. Had to go back and get another one. He got a tip because he went and found a cocktail waitress to get me a drink while I was waiting... without my asking.
