Tropicana( Vegas) giving $200 slot rebates.

Has anyone done this and had any success?
I went there with a group of seven people after taking in a show at O"Sheas.
Their promo works like this- lose up to $200 and they will give you a matching amount back in free slot play. Half that day, half the next month but you have thirteen months from joining to use the free play.
My problem was that all of us lost their self imposed limits very quickly. I dropped $200 playing Goldfish in about twenty minutes, got my $100 in free play and lost that just as fast. Maybe it was just bad variance but their machines seem very very tight, especially compared to downtown and Terribles which were the only places we played this trip.
Even though I haven't played there in 4 years, I didn't count as a new member (expected that answer though).

Casino is in much better shape; although the vp is below average, even for the strip
Thanks for update hoops. Many people are wondering what they considered a NEW signup?
I haven't played there in..........10-15 years. Don't know when I'll have time to find out though? lol

I didn't have much luck playing video poker there a few weeks ago. A lady beside me was dealt a royal though.

Does anybody know about the return visit on this promotion? I played my first $100 on my vacation in early Feb. I'm returning in about as month.

Do I have to go back to the slot club to "activate" my next $100 in free play? Or, do I just use my PIN and activate at the machine? I would really like to avoid the hassle of the slot club again. It was pretty bad the first time.

Thanks for any info.

I asked the club person and she said it would be there when you returned, but a friend had to go to the desk to get his.
When I did it I put $200 in to a $5 Double Diamond machine and I cashed out at $700, so I'm gonna say that was a success.

They've been sending me postcards with three free nights (any day of the week) on them, another win in my book.

We are staying there on April 30th.
On the "coupons" thread, someone said that the slot booth person told them if you haven't used your Trop card in three years, you were good for this promo.
Don't know if it's true or not......

I'm heading there this weekend, I'll try to find out and post on return.
Please report back to us if you had success and how far they go back to see if you were ever a member. It has been years. Probably over 8 years for us.
you'll be fine at 8 years. They call the club 'trop plus' and my impression at the booth: if you never had a 'trop plus' card it's all good. The quarter vp is really short pay, so you kinda take your poison. My two hundred investment lasted several hours cause i started it at the high limit room, lucked into a 125 usd profit, then switched to the quarter, which yielded naught but a fitty dolla comp balance. I promptly sprinted back to high limit for a better return on the first rebate, in accord with lva advice (left with 85 usd). After i run the second hundred through full pay at five usd per hand, I'll still have 55 or so comp dollas, and the yield of 20 hands at full pay JOB. Good Luck!
