Underage gambling: How often do casinos check?

Two incidents come to mind. About 7 years ago, I was playing blackjack at the old Barbary Coast. Sat next to a girl who'd have had trouble passing for 16. She looked 14. The dealer asked her age and when she said, "I'm 21." that was the end of it. They let her continue.
Conversely, a couple years later at a downtown casino, I watched two guys who both said they were 26 (looked 30) have their IDs scrutinized for about 20 minutes. There seems to be a lot of inconsistency with this issue. Has anyone else seen a pit boss or any employee demand an ID?

The security folks where I work check ID's regularly.
There have been many times I had a floor person have a cocktail waitress ask me for ID. I don't mind so much. Happens the most at MGM/Mirage properties for me. I don't see a lot of people get checked, but I really don't pay much attention to what other people are doing.

People have told me that I look a lot younger than my actual age and I remember being carded by a Dealer at Slots-A-Fun when I was 35. She was shocked! I said that I hope that I look this good at 50!

Most casino are diligent about checking IDs for underage drinking and gambling, although, I have never been carded when asking for a senior discount.
They are VERY diligent about it at the blackjack tables at Bellagio.
I was at a full 3 card poker table at Aria and the entire table and about 6 of their friends were all carded. Sigh I was the only one not checked,
Out in left field reply..........Indiana passed a check at any age law. Sure was silly getting carded at age 63. July 1st they changed the stupid law but the biggest local chain kept the policy.
In November we took our just turned 21 son and 24 year old son to LV, while on the new strip the baby faced 21 year old only got card once. It was when he order beer with his lunch at the IP. The old strip was a different story. While at Mermaids he couldn't take 2 steps without being as for his ID. He did have a pit boss get on him. He was playing roulette at 4Q's. He had been there for some time when a new pit boss came on. She made a bee line for him, and in between hands ask--who let baby face sit down. Dealer said "he was here when I started" Needless to say, that was the wrong answer. Pit boss informed "baby face to give it up", and for the dealer to ask to see an id if she questioned anyone.
About a year ago at the Strat I saw them escorting a minor out the door. he refused to show ID so they showed him the door. I saw him sitting out by the bus stop later in the evening.
