I wonder how much influence places like Shreveport, Tunica, Biloxi, and Oklahoma tribes had on the decision. If Texas developed casinos, all those places would get hit hard in the proverbial gonads.
And by "influence," I mean direct cash payments to legislators, in the finest good ol' Texas tradition.
You are big time right Kevin, our politos are the best money can buy our local parlor is less than a block than the police station, like I say God bless Las Vegas.
I used to work for one of the casinos in Shreveport before moving to Vegas 16 years ago. If Texas legalized gambling, the casinos in Shreveport and Lake Charles would dry up and blow away...80% of our revenues came from Texas.

its hard to say. Indiana has casinos right on the border of Cincinatti Oh. For years Ohio had no casinos and those INdiana casino reaped all of their money...and it was mostly Ohio money because nobody lives in that part of INdiana. But even with Ohio now having their own casinos the INdiana ones still seem to keep their heads above water. I guess some people have loyalty to certain places.
