Virgin Casino Las Vegas?

So thanks (and shout out) to Anthony for bringing up the Virgin Casino during one of the recent video blogs. I really enjoyed listening to the topics and good to learn something new, always. (2 thumbs up for you, Anthony).

I did not know that the Virgin Vegas is trying to make such improvements, but when I went on vpfree2 I see that indeed, there are quite good V-P games available.  Still, there are a few questions that came up along:

No 1: It says that "almost 100% games" have reduced point value.  On the other hand, I see that they have a multiplier day and a senior day. Does anybody know if these games are excluded from multipliers (even though the games are under 100 per cent)? Has anybody experience about this?

No 2: I mean, the games are ok , some are good, but what about the value of the points? Are there any good restaurant ( dining) deals that somebody can recommend?

No 3: Also important, from my research it says that parking is currently free. Does his apply just for the summer months or is it like that always?

No 4: If I register for the club and give them my mailing adress, is there a chance to get offers for reduced room rates in the future? And what about the resort fee? Do they charge a lot for that?

I would definetely give it a  shot and play a few sessions during my next stay in Las Vegas.  Win or lose no object, but it would be great to know that the return is ok and that our action is appreciated.

Parking has always been free and easy.  We continue to get room offers for minimal play, but those recently have come with a resort fee.  There is not alot of video poker in the casino and points seem slow adding up.  Hopefully things continue to improve at Virgin.

Virgin is part of the Hilton network, so if you are a Hilton member there are additional discounts available

1) There are exactly four machines with decent VP.  10/7 DB, NSUD, and FPJOB, in .25, .50, and $1 denoms. All the other machines have the usual lousy paytables. The points accumulate much more slowly than the already dismal rate of $3 per point and 320 points - $1 FP/comps; specifically, those machines require $10 coin-in to earn a point. This means that every $100 you run through those machines will earn you three cents in players' club benefits. Whee!

2. The points are equal in value whether used for comps or free play. I haven't eaten there in quite some time, but I doubt that there are bargains. If I'm in that part of town, I usually visit the excellent nearby (non-casino) Thai restaurants.

3) Parking has been free as long as I remember, and part of the reason for that is that they have a fair amount of outside/surface parking, which would be difficult to charge for.

4) Pretty much every casino in Vegas will give you some kind of deal if you sign up for the players' club and give them a little action. That said, many joints comp on theo rather than action, so if you play only those good machines, you might get an offer in the mail for fifteen cents off a deluxe room and a free (small) cup of coffee. It's a Hilton property, and they've been moderately generous to me from my sporadic action at the LV Hilton, but I have no idea what VP action will get you these days--my play has mostly been sportsbook.

Resort fee is a soul-crushing $62 per night including tax. I have no idea what level of play will enable you to evade or reduce that. My guess is that it would take quite a bit. Again, whether they evaluate you on action or theo would make a huge difference. Playing 99%+ VP and being a slot money burner are two entirely different things. They might love you for the latter but sneer at you for the former.

Thank you for your analysis. Absolutely making sense what you're righting. When I saw that "almost 100 per cent games require much more play for the points", the only thing of interest would be whether they multiply those mickey mouse nano point system, because if so, then all over sudden it could become interesting.

I see that they have the multiplier on Tuesday, which would be on the same day like Boyd's. I prefer the play at the Gold Coast. Haven't been to the Suncoast in years. Perhaps I'll give it a try next time.  Suncoast used to have 99.73 NSUD. Not so sure if those machines have been removed.

It's criminal to call it a "compd room" when you still have to pay $62 for the stinkin' room.

just curious: is it 62 Dollars for the resort fee, plus tax on top of the fee? Or rather 55 dollars plus tax? I generally find it an insult to treat tourists like that and I will refuse to pay that much money for nothing. I stay at places that give me the full comp or places that charge little because I spend my time on the floor and not on the room. All I need is a 5 or 6 hour break time to get some sleep and that's it.  I don't fly to Las Vegas for the opportunity to have a hotel room that charges me 180 or so on average, all included. If I want that, I go to Mexico or some nice resort in Asia where I get it all, for less than that!

Suncoast dumped most of their good VP during the remodel. Only "full pay" game left from their decent machines is TDB (99.58.) They still have 8/5 BP, and I get my deuces fix by playing a little BDW progressive (98.80.) Got lucky and hit aces with a kicker on TDB during my trip a couple weeks ago. Pays just like a royal...

I loved the Suncast shortly after it opened. Must have been some 15 to 20 years back. Was a great place, loved the rooms. Got good rates and good videopoker. The bartender was fantastic. Had a blast there. Hit quite a lot of royals and the multiplier days were awesome.   I see that Station Casinos still has a lot of good games but they don't give the multipliers to all patrons. When they came up with that rule I came up with the walking rule. Never set a foot inside any Station property since then. I had the president level before that change. And I was a losing player. They still decided to cut me off from playing. What a joke decision it was.
